I bought a fancy blender that makes pure soups among other things. Opened it tonight.
While going through instructions, I saw warning to not let children (understandably) and people with “mental illness” operate it. You can’t operate blender if you have mental illness.? I know they do it for liability but are they equating mental illness with cognitive impairment? But even then I know plenty of cognitively impaired people who operate blenders just fine. Ridiculous. If someone has OCD or depression they should stay away from this blender??? Obviously it’s not what they meant ...but WHAT did they mean? I couldn’t believe my eyes |

Watch out who you put it charge of making margaritas at your next party! Too funny!
I could see the warning for a mandolin slicer or an immersion blender, maybe... And so THATS why i havent been running the vacuum, honey! |

LOL And with the meds I take I'm supposed to be careful using "heavy machinery." Does that include the washer and the dryer?
Gee, I can't imagine what being mentally ill has to do with operating a blender. That is wild. (Now, I could see, maybe, a chain saw.....in Texas.) |

Lol your responses I am dying
I tried it last night, this blender does act like it’s about to explode the whole time and it gets hot when making soup. I see a warning re don’t burn yourself but menial illness has nothing to do with it! |

To be fair not operating heavy machinery while on meds might not be a bad warning. Heavy machinery are type of vehicles like forklift or a tractor. Something you need to be alert for. Dangerous if you aren’t fully alert or drowsy. No, washer and dryer aren’t heavy machinery.. they aren’t dangerous to operate |

I’ve never noticed a warning on any product about not operating with mental illness. That’s appalling. Most everyone now has anxiety and depression. No one should own that blender! Let’s start a class-action lawsuit against the blender company! That’ll really whip things up!

Wait a second, they actually put that in the instructions! I would find that super insulting.
I also think perhaps it was a poor translation since that happens ALL THE TIME with instructions. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!” |

It sounds like Engrish. Bad translation. I'm assuming they meant someone with impaired ability to use such equipment.
