I happened to read that a lot of the grapes in France were damaged when the temperatures overnight dipped to -5 degrees. So what it actually means is that there probably won't be nearly as much wine produced and prices will probably go up for wine because of it.

Yes, grapes can be affected by freezing weather. It can get very cold in France, even south.

Not a great fan of French wines, will stick to Australian or Californian.

There is still plenty of wine in other parts of the world. I think it's probably only the price of French wine that would go up. It's already pretty expensive. I rarely buy wine, but if I do it's from California.
