Hi, guys. I always choose organic food at any grocery store. I've heard that it is a big lie because organic food and inorganic food are the same and you don't need to pay more for organic one. What do you think?

I’ve heard the exact same thing you have.
Some stuff does taste better but I don’t think it has anything to do with it being organic. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

It’s the exact same, nutritionally speaking. Takes more resources to get a lower yield from the crops, too, from what I read.

The main thing I know for a fact is that there are less pesticides used for fruits and vegetables, and no antibiotics and growth hormones used for poultry. In my hometown, I know a lot of local farmers who don't use any of these. My uncle has his small farm himself and all of his animals are free range since they're just roaming around freely. In rural areas here, most of the food you can buy at the local market has always been organic. They are just overpriced in big supermarkets when the term "organic" became a thing. Here in the city, we can choose from local and imported ones. I trust local ones better, but most of the time, imported meat is cheaper, so I also buy them.

Some things I buy organic & other things not. Milk, cream, always organic OR from an actual dairy. My meats & basically buy from the farmers that raise them or from a meat market that processes local meat. I actually buy the organic roasted chicken at the store. I compared flavor & liked it best. Veggies I try to get from local farmers & most don't use the pesticides but probably aren't under the govt standards for being organic. Can I tell the difference between grass fed beef & store bought....you bettcha. Once I tasted the difference I could never go back. I get organic OJ & the flavor is so much better

I don't buy organic in the grocery store, because I'm not sure it's worth the extra expense. Local stuff from the farmer's market is good, but those are not open every day.

It takes alot of research to find out what you should get organic and what dosen't matter. I have done it and I don't suggest it. It takes way too long and you have to go through scientific papers and cross comparisons that will give you headaches. Basically the major things you need to watch out for is: Eggs should be organic pasture raised. Cage free is a buzzword that is basically meaningless. Meats should be as lean as you can get and grass fed grass finished. The animals will store toxins in their fat and can pass them on to you including dairy. The most important variable to worry about with meat is its omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. You want as low Omega 6 and as high an omega 3 as you can find.. Small fish or sockeye salmon are my favorite. When it comes too most vegetables and fruits even nuts the organic part dose very little...I mean it has some small effects but almost negligible. Just make sure to wash them thoroughly before eating or cooking with them. Hope this helped.

I used to buy some organic veggies for my pet parrots, but not as many for myself or husband. They're too expensive and as others have written, not notably more healthful. I do try to buy local produce when available.
