I live in the boonies goonies, in part, because I don't want to have to put up with noisy neighbors in the city. There are some people who live about half a mile away who have LOUD parties every few months. They are having one tonight. The music is so loud that with my windows closed and a fan going I have to crank the volume on my TV up to an uncomfortable level. I was going to have a quiet evening at home reading. The noise is too loud to be able to concentrate.

Calling the police to complain is pointless. They have the right to blast away until 11pm. I gauran-damn-tee I'll be on the phone to the police at 11:01.

I can relate. The farm just down the road, the son renovated the barn & house into a huge event place for weddings & parties & this is wedding, graduation & just plain party season. One afternoon I was quietly working out in front of my house & kept hearing a human voice. Took me awhile to realize the voice was coming over a mic & there was an event going on. It definitely interferes with the quiet of nature I really want to enjoy. My other concern is that there are paths from that barn through an area of woods over to the barn where I am keeping my horse & stray (probably drunk) people wander over there "just looking".

I appreciate that they fixed up the place but I sure don't enjoy their "events"

The neighbors who lived behind me at my old house were hooligans. The kids would throw apples at my dog and one time one of the kids spit coke in my hair. The adults weren’t any better. They’d throw these giant loud pool parties and blast music all through the night. This happened the entire 26 years I lived there. You’d think they would have grown up in that time frame.

Our next door neighbors called the cops on them a lot. One time the kids from the house went around and spread dog poop all over my neighbors cars. My mom parked in the garage though so they didn’t hit us. There were also rumors of drug use going on in the house.

I haven’t really seen any neighbors in my new house. My mom has talked to a couple though and she says they are nice.

Oh eskie, that mike would aggravate me! A couple of times when i was in nyc, there were miked functions just echoing - like the city isnt loud enough on its own! That was why the guy with the horns aggravated me so much on Jan 6 - the incessant nonsensical droning. Too bad i wasnt there that day, there would be video of me tackling him!

I hope you can check the noise law things and get him to turn it down. Otherwise yeah i would be tempted to be running my woodchipper during his events. Maybe the town will "chip" in on one, LOL.

Ugh, i have an upper back ache, usually i am not THIS cranky!
