OMG... This may be old news to most Windows users. But I just learned there is to be a Windows 11! I don't know how many more upgrades my old PC can handle. May the god of technology have mercy on my old laptop.

Did you ever have windows excel 5 and click a bunch of keys which then led to that creepy hall of souls thing?
I’m not making this up that really was a thing in excel 5. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

Excel 5 goes back further than my personal computer history takes me. (I haven't actually been a computer junkie for all that many years.) When I first started using a personal computer it ran Windows 7. I'm glad there was no creepy hall of souls thing on that!

And with the poor experiences with Windows 10, I won't be in a hurry to use it either!!

My computer is an old Dell desktop, too. I'm not jumping into using Windows 11 quite yet.

I like Windows 10. I'm sure my company will move us to Windows 11 eventually though.

To be honest I didn’t even know computers still used windows. I only have an iPhone that I use and I sometimes use my moms iPad. I haven’t used an actual computer in a couple years and that was only to do something quickly at work on the office computer.

I use a real computer for work, but for personal use, the chromebook works just fine and is much cheaper.

Wow, didn't know this! Eventually I'll upgrade but I'd rather other people try it first rather than me dealing with a bunch of glitches.

I read (somewhere on the web) that Windows 11 will be made available "later this year" to Windows 10 users. Don't know what "later this year" means exactly. (It's apparently available now to Windows users who participate in the Windows Insider program which I do not.) But the article I read said it would likely be offered as an "optional update". Supposedly it will be a free download for one year. But, then, they said that about Windows 10 too and it remained a free download longer.

As long as I don't have to buy a new upgrade, I am fine with it. Hopefully it is an okay operating system though.

Actually, based on what I've since heard in YouTube videos I've listened to, computers older than 4 or 5 years (possibly less) may not even run Windows 11 at all. But the good news is that Windows 10 will apparently continue to be supported until 2025 (by which time there'll probably be a Windows 12 or even 13? )

Oh dear....I am tech illiterate and I have Windows 7 because my very favorite games don't work with 10. I like those PC hidden object games.

Unless it's a big improvement, I'll wait. |
