I just now got charged for pants I ordered last month. It’s more confusing then strange. But it’s the exact amount my pants cost and I couldn’t see the transaction on my last statement. It’s just kinda odd. I contacted them and they said they couldn’t give me any info. I don’t know. I thought I put them on that card. But maybe it was done on debit? Then how would the charge have gotten on credit and why is it the same amount?

**** like this makes me want to give up on technology completely.

I'm hoping some of these involve the paranormal or cryptids. I, unfortunately, don't have anything interesting like that. Though, I certainly look forward to an encounter one of these days. I've been an enthusiast of both since I was a kid.

@raging vortex

Did the experience with the CD happen in the same house where you had power & no one else did?

Simple pleasures. Maybe she didn't have a lot of interests. I'm the type that I love to learn about & understand most everything. I can always find something to keep me occupied. I do enjoy spending time online. I also enjoy parking at the lake to just be. For me it's about balance.

My mom and I were driving up the California coast from Los Angeles to Sacramento. The date was September 26th, 1969. We wanted to take our time and enjoy a scenic route. Mom had packed a lunch and we decided to stop at a place called Lake Berryessa. The lake is fairly close to Napa, in between San Francisco and Sacramento. We had our dog with us; we wanted to walk her a bit and find a place to eat lunch. My mom spotted a parking lot and turned into it.

The area was desolate and very quiet. There was one car in the parking lot; it was an off-white sedan. My mother noticed that there were clothes on hangers hanging from the little hooks behind the windows in the back seat of the car. She commented that, because of the clothing, it looked like someone was traveling. She didn’t say anything more, but I sensed that she was a bit wary about being in such a lonely place and seeing one car in the parking lot, but not a soul around.

Mom and I began walking with our dog on her leash and looking for a spot to sit down and eat lunch. We saw a few picnic tables in the short distance. The lake was to our left as we walked toward the picnic tables. But before we sat down at one of the tables we wanted to let our dog walk a bit more. So we turned in a somewhat wide circle; the lake and the narrow beach along the lake was now to our right. There were tall, yellow weeds in front of us, but off to the right.
As we were walking along we heard a voice that came from the tall weeds. The voice, clearly a male voice and somewhat gruff, called, “Hey! Pssst! Psst! Hey you! Come here!” And he repeated again, “Pssst! Come here!” (As I’m writing this and remembering the freeze-frame fear of that moment, I have chills.)

My mother yelled, “RUN!” and grabbed the dog in her arms. We RAN. Ran back to our VW Bug, jumped in, locked the doors, and got out of there faster than fast.

On September 28th, 1969 the TV and the newspapers were full of news about a hideous attack at Lake Berryessa. The Zodiac Killer had murdered a young woman and severely wounded a young man who had been sitting on the exact beach by the lake my mother and I had passed, just before hearing the voice coming from the weeds.
My mother heard the news and said, “Yep. It was him.”

I use slang terms for them myself & with partners. If I had ever had kids, I would have used the correct words with them. Though would have told them, they will hear/.read all sorts of other versions in their lifetime.

I've read about secret passageways & escape routes. History was my favorite subject in school & still one I enjoy.

I can understand why you'd think it was something else. It kept happening in the same place. When my laptop acts up, it tends to be random. I haven't heard of that movie. I prefer to read horror, since I can use my imagination. I do watch it as well. Even though, to be honest, I think a lot of it is poorly done. I don't tend to get scared in general. That's not what I'm wanting anyway. I'd just like a little chill, shiver, unexpected moment.

Probably disconcerting, but I think, really cool. It's not usually that easy. You were obviously open to the experience & certainly helps. Did you continue to see what would happen or did you turn the TV off?

You may know this, but we call them pay phones here. Some were like a box with a door. They still had some when I was a kid. Most of the phones were on a wall or a stand. We don't have many of those any more. Since cells/mobiles are so prevalent.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I are you saying there was a toilet in with the phone? I thought that was a more recent thing with people talking on their phones in public bathrooms. To me those are two separate activities.

When I was a kid, I had what they called a bashful bladder. I rarely could go anywhere other than at home. Fortunately back then I wasn't drinking the amount of water I do now. Otherwise I would have constantly been uncomfortable.

In my senior year I finally figured out what the issue was. In my mind I thought people were waiting specifically for me to get done. Which seriously inhibited me. When I realized that no one was, I didn't have the issue, except occasionally. I still had to work through it when there was just the one bathroom (instead of multi stalls) or a friend or family was actually waiting for me. Thankfully I was able to overcome that as well.

It's still one of my favorite shows. Rod Serling wrote some of the best episodes. I like these more than a lot of horror movies. The psychological thriller is more unsettling for me. Of course, he also had a lot of thought provoking moments as well.

Was there anything else? It seems there was some sort of activity going on there. When people mention things like this, I wonder if someone had passed in the home. That's what I would have checked on. Many times that's where the activity is coming from.

@BethRags

As I was reading your account, I was wondering if it was the Zodiac Killer. You & your mom were blessed not to fall victim. I've read other stories of people who later found out that they escaped the clutches of a serial killer. I'm a true crime buff.

I just realized, I do have one of my own to add. It's probably just a glitch, but still odd. I live in a studio & only have one window. It faces out onto the parking lot. I'm on the first level. Across from my door & part of my window is a support wall. I do get some sun part of the day. I also keep the window open a few hours to get air in. This time of year, with several 100+ (38+ c) days, I need to run the AC much of the time. Especially since I have four furbabies. There are times when I have it off & it will come on & run awhile (it's done this other years). It will do that several times. It will show on the control panel that it's off. I can't remember if it does this with the heater option as well. I'll have to pay attention when it gets cold again.
