What are some of your strange/creepy stories?

In 2009 when I was going back to the hospital after a day visit to my treatment center a staff was driving me back and we got lost. We saw some people in a window and thought we’d ask them for directions. But we had actually unknowingly ended up at a museum and the people in the windows were mannequins.

1 year our town had a power outage just before christmas. the power company said that unfortunately, because of the damage to the cables, it wouldn't be baqck until mid january

I resigned myself to the fact it was going to be a long christmas. no power, ordering in from the next town for food, etc.

christmas eve I was sat on my bed reading a crime book, and the lights came on. I looked outside, and the entire town was still in complete darkness

yet somehow, through the broken power cables in the street, I had power

and continued to have power without any interuptions to the service. it was so weird

1 time, a friend leant me a cd of disco songs

I opened the case and saw that the disk had a massive crack in it and figured their was no way that was going to play. I was right, it didn't even read. I put it back and went to do other things.

next morning when I went to get it to return it to my friend, the crack seemed even bigger, but when I went to play it, it played absolutely perfectly. I told my friend oh my friend, that cd you leant me with the crack?. I got it to play!

we put it on her sterrio, and like the first time, it wouldn't even read

I just stared

how on earth was I able to listen to the song I wanted, just once, before it broke again.

creepy

It's still one of my favorite shows. Rod Serling wrote some of the best episodes. I like these more than a lot of horror movies. The psychological thriller is more unsettling for me. Of course, he also had a lot of thought provoking moments as well.

I watched an episode the other day. It was great. About Romney Wordsworth

I lost something in my old house one time. It was on the floor of my bed and when I woke up it was gone. So I’m thinking one of the cats has it. And I’m frantically searching the house looking for it because the item was really personal. I never found it. The creepy thing is, we had new carpets put in, which meant all the furniture had to be moved. It still wasn’t found. Then when we moved we took everything. When the movers had finished I went upstairs to see if it was laying on the floor. And it wasn’t there. So idk if my brother kinda freaked out and threw it out or something. But it was just strange how the house was empty and there was still no trace of it.

I had a dream last night where I needed to go to the vet. When my mom woke up the first thing she told me was that our old vet had died.

this just happened a few days ago - i had a wet hand towel drapped over the side of the bathtub and there was also a bottle of bath gel sitting just a few inches away from it .
ivwas alone in the bathroom, none of he animals were in there with me & the door was closed .
i was standing at the sink about 3 ft away from the tub washing my hands and i heard a quiet little "plunk" noise in the tub. so i kinda leaned sideways to look and see right there, laying in the tub are both the towel & the botttle of shower gel..

I was camping in the mountains one summer and my step grandmother began freaking out. Something was outside the tent. My grandfather and I rolled our eyes and I remember thinking "yeah the whole world is outside the tent" He got up, went outside buck naked and walked around looking then said there was nothing he could find. We went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning there were cop cars parked near our camp.
Possible trigger:
there is more too the story but too long for this format.

not really a strange story as such, but I always found it weird when I went round my grandmother's house.

she didn't have internet, she didn't have tv, she didn't even have a computer- she would just sit their listening to old crackly vinyl records, that or sit in the garden admiring the flowers.

I just always thought it strange that we've moved on so much since then, but she hasn't.

guess it was just what she felt comfortable with

Simple pleasures. Maybe she didn't have a lot of interests. I'm the type that I love to learn about & understand most everything. I can always find something to keep me occupied. I do enjoy spending time online. I also enjoy parking at the lake to just be. For me it's about balance.

I have dreams that come true. Then after they come true I don’t have them anymore.

I had a lot of dreams about schools being in session, but it wasn’t the way school used to be. It was different. Kinda like it was the end of the world version. Haven’t had that one since Covid started.

I also had one for many years where my family needed to be near my sister and her family for safety reasons. This was before there was any type of talk about moving. But I haven’t had that one since we moved.

I used to hear a song in my head- one that I didn't know, so I thought it was just made up or something (as a way to cope with emotions)

couple days later, it came on the radio... it took a while to click at first, but soon I was like: yeah, I know where I know this song from.

my head. lol

I wear a mouth guard at night so when I clench and grind my teeth, they don't get so damaged. Years ago now, like maybe when I was in my 20s, and still living at my parents house, I'd just gotten a night guard from the dentist. Pretty early into getting it, one night, I put it in my mouth and went to sleep. In the morning, it was not in my mouth. I figured it fell out but I never found it. I will never know if I went sleep walking and threw it out, if I swallowed it (which would have been really hard to do with this one), or what.

I used to know a guy called alex, who always went by the nickname dunder toes

I never knew why, he never would say, but his wife would call him it, and so would his kids- but he wouldn't tell a soul why he was dunder toes

the first time I was admitted to hospital (physical, children's ward) they asked me what film I wanted to watch

I didn't know, so let them decide

they decided on the lion king (first time I'd seen lion king), and I really enjoyed it.

by the end of the movie, when they came to check on me, I didn't have any psymptoms- none at all, and it was strange because before the movie I had a lot

I was released later that day, and from then on, lion king has become a bit of a personal favorite/ magic healing movie for me.
