I usually enjoy the gymnastics and, in winter, the figure skating. The skateboarding sounds like fun! That said, I would have preferred the Olympics to have been held next year.

Wasn’t their supposed to be a 13 year old skateboarder? The girl who won dancing with the stars Jr? I know she was going to go last year. But I just came in the room right at the end of skateboarding and I didn’t see her.

I got a skateboard for Christmas. I still haven’t started to use it. There’s no way I’ll ever be able to do the stuff they do at the olympics. But I’m hoping to get good enough to at least cruise around the neighborhood.

I got to see both the male & female gymnastics. I'm glad they are repeating the events at different times.

Not only should they be postponed and not held at all , all players Who have to forfeit, pull out of a game or denied the right to compete need to be given a fair second chance at some point. A gymnast has had her career effectively ended because she was forced to compete because the games were happening, and was forced to undergo multiple Covid tests with (sometimes inconsistent) results or delayed results. Yes even some results are false. This girl was vaccinated. Now I know about breakthrough and even asymptomatic cases happen. But people are neglecting to share the rarity of breakthrough cases and complexity of even catching that there was one. ) This is because people that have had Covid twice who are sick a second time and need hospitalization or die have had documented comorbid conditions. These conditions have to be so impactful that a small exposure to a Covid positive person would make them so sick that they are able to overcome their own (lab proven) immunity, and their body’s normal immuno defenses and become devastatingly ill. Statistically if you read about it it’s pretty unusual. In fact a lot of specific conditions have to be met to get really sick a second time. Most cases of reinfection were caught accidentally and patients were asymptomatic. And even those cases are rare. So then I’m supposed to believe that Japan is able to override all current statistics regarding reinfection, symptomatic reinfection, and high viral load so much that that they have all these cases of vaccinated people testing positive for COVID? If this is really true than someone needs to alert WHO, CDC, the institute of virology the vaccine manufacturers; and the evolutionary biologists who have studied this phenomenon out the wazoo and let them know that an incredible anomaly had occurred. They need to get there pronto and possibly get those patients to participate in a new study immediately. Because if it’s blows up In Japan like that then on a larger world scale our asses are about to be kicked.
You see what I mean?

What I’m trying to say is they boasted of a high vaccination rate among players and staff. A few months ago interview after interview with Olympic officials and their experts had them all talking vaccination rates, mitigation remedies and rarity of reinfection.

They barely addressed the plan for COVID positive players beyond vague talk about quarantine and isolation. But their media tour was to reinforce how prepared Japan was and safe. “Oh and please ignore the low vaccination rate for Japanese citizens. Pay no mind that it’s about 30%. We won’t require proof of vaccination we’ll just take their word for it. Oh and don’t ask us why our vaccination rate is low either. But we are still giving our free condoms “

So now why all the Covid ? Well, they either don’t understand or care about scientific facts about Covid, they hid their country’s Covid issues, they have faulty tests, they are experiencing a scientific anomaly of cases that have completely defeated the vaccine that no other place in the world has experienced. Catch my drift? Who makes all the money from holding the Olympics? Who makes money when they are broadcast? Who loses HUGELY if they are postponed? Which players or sports may benefit if there are players sent home and the competition restructured?
