I came across it a few days ago and saw that you can ask questions their and get answers (and I want to find a replacement for the now closed yahoo answers) is quora worth it?. do people answer quickly, or are their better sites out their for this type of thing |

I used to use it - you can get very detailed and informative answers, but I don’t think it’s moderated as well as it could be so sometimes you can get judgmental/ignorant answers and comments on your questions, too. Sometimes they get downvoted enough to collapse and get hidden, but not always. I think the risk is probably minimal but it’s definitely there.
In my experience most answers do get responses fairly quickly. |

I got viscously attacked one time by posting on there. My question wasn’t very appropriate though and was pretty offensive. So I guess I got what I deserved.
But I find it informational when looking for answers. Yahoo answers I don’t bother with either. I got yelled at on there too. Honestly this is the only site I feel safe posting on. I was on a weight loss group which was pretty good and I was on another site that was for a specific interest. But I felt too uncomfortable personally after awhile. If you use Reddit there’s probably a specific sub you are looking for where you can ask questions. It’s where I get all my info from about leaked products and stuff about TV shows. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I've been to Quora a few times, but it doesn't feel particularly lively or very well-moderated; so I'll stick with my safer, more tried and true places, like here, for now.

You might not have to even ask the question. I bet it has already been asked with plenty of responses. Just type the question in and similar questions asked with come up.

I haven't but I'm old enough to remember yahoo answers and had some bad experiences on there so I tend to avoid such places as there's usually little to no moderation. I'm quite sensitive and been easily upset by some replies.

it's called the answerbank. it's based in the UK, but their are people on it from everywhere The AnswerBank - post questions and answers, and discuss topics of interest. you just sign up and ask your question.. you can actually discuss things their too. I've had a lot of success with my posts on that site |

I personally would take whatever info you get with a grain of salt. I am not saying you will get no good answers just that they are given by random people on the net. I felt the same about yahoo answers.
