I never do. The crowds alone scare me, and as much as I like getting a good deal, Black Friday crowds can be hostile and violent and very overwhelming.

But this year I may indeed be indulging in Black Friday shopping. Tomorrow I will call my favorite tattoo shop to see if they have any deals. A different shop nearby has a deal where I get double the value of my purchase AKA pay $100 and receive $200...so I am hoping my favorite tattoo shop has a similar deal because I enjoy their work and I have a big piece in mind that would make venturing out on Black Friday worth it.

Do you indulge in Black Friday shopping? What are your thoughts on the subject?

I worked a 12 hour black friday shift one time. It was 7AM-7PM in the kids department just cleaning and picking up stuff. I didn't mind it. It was after the doorbusters gift card thing. No one was really in the kids department so no one was a slob. I had no issues with customers being rude.

I avoid stores on Black Friday unless I'm working but I do plan on going to stores early in the morning if my mom keeps her promise. But just to some grocery stores.

I don’t - mostly because I’ve rarely seen anything I actually need on the rare Black Fridays I’ve been out shopping, plus crowded shops are horrible to be in. People around here don’t tend to be violent when shopping, but the first time I went out on a Black Friday, most people in the supermarket were really quiet and it felt like they were looking through me if they saw me. It felt like a zombie apocalypse, to be honest. But then again, people literally have joked that if a zombie apocalypse did happen nobody would notice here until it was too late.

No. Many times I was working but mostly I never see any really good deals.

I wish people wouldn't buy the hype (that the stores put on) and would not engage is such insane consumerism.

No, I hate stores anyway, so I don't want to be at a super crowded store.

I do most of my shopping online and with Cyber Monday I don't see the point in Black Friday.

Nope. I’m all done with my Christmas shopping.

You could not get me to go shopping on Black Friday if you put a gun to my head. I hate the crowds and rude behavior.

I’m old enough to remember when Black Friday was a novelty and most people did not shop. I had one aunt who did that and she was considered a bit eclectic. Back then the sales were the day after Christmas. Like many others the relatives had the big get togethers after Christmas so people could shop the sales for the get togethers. Now there’s Black Friday even in Europe!

That is just a response to the market and the way to generate profit. World is so global now so changes in market in the US would have to inevitably cause changes elsewhere

I have never participated in Black Friday. I haven't ever had extra money to spend plus the whole thing sounds extremely stressful.

Absolutely not!

Not even online because not many genuine deals, mostly "tat" (rubbish).

DH and I used to participate but we didn't wait in line for hours or anything. We just made it a casual early morning thing, hit a few stores, bought a few things, had breakfast, and went home.

We didn't go at all last year (I don't think they did it?) and this year we only went so that I could get some art supplies that were discounted. Michaels has been stingy with their canvas sales since the pandemic so I had to go while they were 60% off!

Everybody has been trying to make up lost revenue due to Covid, so the savings are not really there, for the most part. We did save $25.00 on a miter saw stand for me at Harbor Freight.

We went to 3 stores, none of which had a crowd. But we did not go early, early either.

No. There is nothing I need that badly to go out and brave that level of insanity.

I did score a couple good deals this morning for cyber Monday. I got a couple pairs of Levis from Kohls and then a button shirt I've been wanting for awhile.
