Like Shakespeare posted, I am approaching retirement. Boy am I ready!

Up until recently I loved my job. Then we went from the best supervisor I ever had to the absolute worst. Previous boss had our backs, was supportive and trusted us to do our jobs. New one is a gold plated B! She micromanages. She tells us we can not be trusted. Ever day there are multiple nasty, rude emails telling us we are incompetent dolts. The time has come for me to pull the plug and retire.

The pieces are all falling into place. I needed to sell my mom's house before I retire. There is a contract on it. We should close by the end of the month.I signed up for social security th start Jan 1. I signed up for Medicare part B. Talked to my insurance guy who will get me on an advantage plan when the time comes.

I'm feeling good about myself getting everything lined up. Jan 4th I plan to tell the Queen B she can kiss my backside and give notice.

That;s great that retirement is in such close sight. Enjoy quitting your job.

Yay! Telling Queen B that she’s the reason you’re retiring will be a plus. Just wait until she tries to replace you! ooo good news about your mom’s house. Hope the deal goes though. Oo the places you and Beeg will go.

I may have posted too soon. Realtor called today. Contract fell through. House needs some major work.

Am totally bummed out tonight. Worried about how this will impact retirement. Need to crunch numbers based on it not selling for awhile. Have told myself to set the whole mess aside for the night and sleep on it.

I thought you said earlier you had crunched numbers & didn't need it to sell. Hopefully double checking numbers will reaffirm that. The next door farm where I had my horse Izzy at went under contract last July & it is still pending the sale. Selling homes as is, definitely a challenge. Wishing you the best with this

It might seem like a huge setback right now---but when those repairs are done, and the house goes back up for sale, all the needed work will pay for itself several times over. And you will feel better knowing you are a responsible seller with great integrity.

That new boss does sound like a nightmare, yikes! How did she ever climb the ladder to get where she is? By horrifying and terrorizing people? I'm glad you've got an exit strategy in place.

I have been very bummed the last week. Between dealing with the Queen B and the sale falling though I was very down. I was afraid I would not be able to retire if I had to pay for the repairs. The inspector said the roof and a/c should be replaced because of their age. Roof does not leak and a/c works okay, they are just old.

The hot off the presses news is that I got another offer today! They are asking for money off the price in order to replace the roof and a/c. I am willing to do that. They want to make the deal contingent on selling their house. I emailed the realtor to ask if there is a time limit on them selling. I don't want to take the place off the market for months, then have it fall through.

I'm so exhausted from work this week I'm having trouble getting excited. This would mean being able to retire as planned though.

I think that is true too. I try hard to be kind but with some people it is soooo hard.

Hope this one works out. Better to lower the price & let them choose what they want. That was always my thinking when I bought a home since I was the one who was going to have to live with the choice
