I went to the eye doctor today and got an exam. I looked at the frames (slim pickings cuz of my voucher for a free pair) and they said they ordered a new shipment of round glasses and I'll come back to see all my options.

I am thinking that I want round frames instead of square. I know square frames are all the rage but I want to give the round frames a try.

What do you think? Round frames, yay or nay?

I like round frames much better than squares. Everyone has square not her unique about that.

Mine are oval. But I think it depends on the shape of your face.

If you are drawn to them and think they look good on you, go for it.

I've always worn square glasses, so it'll be a drastic change. That's why I want to wait for the shipment and try them out.

I have seen a few girls in their 20s with round frames and it's so refreshing, but like I said, I've always worn square frames.

Gotcha, I missed reading that part! I think that's wise.

There are some websites where you can try glasses virtually. Like you have a pic and virtually try them.
Personally I am not a big fan of round glasses on me but I think it will look good on you!

Lark, try them on when they come in and see how they look on you. I think what style looks best depends on the shape of the wearer's face.

Everyone says I look good with square glasses, and that was and has always been the big trend since I've worn glasses, but I just want something different. And it's probably not going to go over well because I've only ever worn square glasses and people won't be used to it...and I won't be used to it either, but I have to give it a try and see how I like it.

I've gone radically blonde, so why not radically shaped glasses? Oh boy.

Absolutely! If they make you happy, go for it! It’s not like they’re hurting anyone! Some people might not like them but then some people don’t like square frames too. You’re the one wearing them, so it’s your decision to make!

It is important to get glasses you feel comfortable with since you are the one who is wearing them.

I went with expensive frameless glasses cause I don't like frames this last time & will not mess with contacts. I was wondering how they would work since I do a lot of clearing brush & work with horses & get hit in the face often. Lol....these are the only pair I have had that haven't broken.

In other words....get what works best for you & what you like

Luckily for me, the eye center at Fred Meyers is having their once a year special deal on frames. $59 for a pair which is a steal, and it's the same price if I want sunglasses.

Their selection of frames are so beautiful, and to be honest I was not impressed with the frames at the eye doctors. I can't see those frames as being anything but a backup pair.

So I will take the backup pair, and then head to Fred Meyers and find myself some beautiful frames and beautiful sunglasses. Like Eskie and others said, I have to find glasses I am comfortable with, and that applies to any shape of frames.

Oh, and in case you're wondering...I lost a few pairs of glasses in the house fire, and I got a voucher for a free pair, but the eye doctor has only the very basics for what my voucher allows...and after thinking about it I decided to go ahead and dip into my savings to get the glasses at Fred Meyers.

When you wear eyeglasses everyday it’s important to get something you’ll love. Good thinking.
