Asking for an emergency contact on any form. Why do they assume everyone must have SOMEBODY to be an emergency contact??? Sometimes they want TWO contacts.

I hate forms anyway, but along with the usual stuff like your name, phone number they want an emergency contact.

I have the same issue with an emergency contact. Not sure who to put. My parents are over 1000 miles away, so not sure how much help they would be.

Hearing my parents chewing and swallowing. Omg. I can't even be in the same room sometimes lol. I may have misophonia - self diagnosed 😁

Also, when I say something and people can't hear me and ask me to repeat myself. I completely understand that not everyone has great hearing, and that I'm a soft speaker. I don't know why it bothers me so much and I'm not trying to be a jerk at all. But it really irritates me - I can't help it - especially if I'm not expecting them to not hear me well, and I'm saying something I feel sensitive and private about. I try to be mindful of the two people in my life who can't hear well, and give them extra gentleness and myself too. To be honest, this hasn't been much of an issue lately. I'm not sure if I'm speaking up more, or if I'm just in a better mood, which affects how I feel about stuff like this too.

Strangers who say rude / obnoxious / inappropriate things to other strangers. I can usually size people up quickly. I don't openly smile at those who appear like they might shoot off their mouth / say something weird to me. There's no point. I avoid ppl like this lol.

When people ask the question "So what do you do?" That question needs to die already along with the box people feel the need to understand other people in.

I'm on a roll...

Yes it does need to die. It's a cultural thing, the way we define people by what they DO. And our culture looks down on people who are unemployed, even during these times.

Yet the media is showing the economy is "surging" because of all the Help Wanted signs and that unemployment claims are down. COVID CASES are surging, but it's misleading to say there are lots of jobs. They are not jobs just anybody can do. And counting claims is misleading too, as once you run out of benefits, you fall out of the system and don't get "counted" anymore.

So the rate looks lower than it is. Besides, not everybody even qualifies for unemployment. That "unemployment is down" is my biggest pet peeve.

In some cultures it's considered rude to ask people what they DO or how much money they make. We have euphemisms like "between jobs". WTF? Only "acceptable" cultural thing if not working or in school is to be retired.

I'm starting to feel more and more American culture is sick, and not just literally with all the COVID cases now. Over 800,000 deaths.

The check boxes on male or female; it's not that black and white now but it's changing now. I now see multiple choices for that. Same with race, as for a long time you could only check one box: White, Asian, etc. Then they had that dehumanizing "other" which I hardly see anymore.

I'm on a roll too.....

I too am soft spoken and I know someone who can't hear AND owns a hearing aid BUT refuses to wear it! Talk about frustration. And it's even harder wearing a mask. I have to repeat myself over and over, and then she gets offended cause I'm "yelling" at her. Then wear YOUR *******hearing aid! Win win for all.

This could be a long list....

Shop assistants who call you "Lovely" or "Chick". I'm 60+, neither are appropriate. Add to that "Hiya"; that really grates.

Shops that won't break down high denomination bank notes although you've got them out of the ATM at the store. Except, of course, the one you're using to buy something you don't want in order to get the change you do!!

People who eat quickly (sorry!). It's no good for your digestion and food should be savoured. Not intending to upset anyone, it's your choice.

Incorrect use of "them". For example it's not them apples, it's those apples.

I could go on....

Agree with all of the above.

And I used to get berated for eating too slow. You're right that it's bad for your digestion. It's better to eat slowly so your brain knows when you're actually full. So I savor food, and I enjoy doing it. If anyone thinks I'm too slow they don't have to eat with me.

It’s not that simple. Hearing aide often creates intense discomfort, background noises, unidentifiable noises and some other discomfort. There are reasons why people don’t always want to wear it

If it's not that simple, then why get it in the first place?

Listening to neighbours urinating.

First floor maisonette exactly same layout as my ground floor one. Bad enough listening to her, but he's even worse. I thought fathers taught their sons to pee down the sides to avoid noise, amongst other things. This guy obviously missed out....

UGH!!!! I can't stand hearing someone else do that either, like in the stall next to me at the gym. If I can wait till I get home I do, as I'm just 2 blocks away.
