I rescued 9 of my plants when the house burnt down...well, the correct word is recovered...my succulents and lavender are thriving but I have these daisies that I am confident are perennials. After two months of harsh storms they have been tipped over from wind but green, bushy and still have ripe flowers desperate for sun.

I do not know exactly what daisies they are but they most resemble Denver daisies...yellow on the tips but red on the innerds.

If they are perennials and still bushy do you think they'll survive the winter like a lavender would still look good throughout the seasons?

I have them secured with heavy pots so they won't tip over.

I know virtually nothing about plants. Hopefully others here with more knowledge will see your post and respond to it helpfully. I do hope that your plants will be okay!

I do have three plants, a little cactus and two bromeiiads, but they only require watering once a week. I think maybe bring your plants inside for the winter and put them near a window for light. Water them how you normally do and they should survive that way, I would think.

I don't have experience with daisies of any kind as a house plant. Mote.of.soul might be right about bringing it inside. I don't know.

I currently have a krimson queen and a pothos, both need to be repotted.
Thanks for this!

Lark, I love tending to my plants, but my daisies are all planted in the yard. I googled "daisy plant care" and came up with a ton of info. So googling would be my suggestion about the daisies.

How cold does it get in the winter where you are? If it snows there I would definitely bring your plants inside. If no snow and temps stay above freezing your plants ought to be okay. If no snow, but temps go below freezing I would move plants inside.

Here in Florida we rarely get snow, but temps can go below freezing. First freeze warning of the year I bring all of my sensitive plants inside. It looks like a jungle in the house. For the hardier plants I move the pots up near the house where it stays a bit warmer and cover them with old sheets.

Sorry for the long winded reply.
Thanks for this!

I was going to suggest google too. I have found it so helpful with my own house plant questions.

I've got plants in heavy pots on the patio. If the weather is going to be really cold or snow/ice/heavy rain, I wrap bubble wrap around the pots and tie with string. Then clip the upper edges together to form a collar (clothes pegs or bulldog clips). This shields the plants well but leaves top open for water.

If you don't have any bubble wrap, use refuse bags/bin liners. Poke some holes in so the plants can breathe, then place over top of plants and tie around pots. This method is good for a few days only as lack of light affects the plants.

This worked fine for my blueberry bushes. Got rid of them earlier this year as they were 10+ years old and fruit yield wasn't great. They did survive snow, ice, wind, rain. All the usual weather we get in the UK!
Thanks for this!
