Do you mostly speak and write in past tense, present tense, or future tense?

I typically speak and write in past tense. It's a habit I've made my whole life. I decided in elementary school that when I become a famous author, the majority of my work will be done in past tense, so from there I adopted past tense in writing, and my speaking habits reflect that, too. It's a struggle to write or speak in present tense and I often have to correct myself to other people.

It depends what I am taking about. I am not sure I understand the confusion? If I talk about past I say past tense, if I say what will happen in two months then it’s future tense. But if I say that right now I am drinking my coffee then it’s present.

Same for me. Depends on the time period I'm talking about.

I use the accurate tense for what I am talking about. Past in past, current in present & future in future so that it doesn't confuse other people

Like the hail storm we had in May damaged my roof. My roofer came out this morning to check the damage. I just filed a claim with my insurance & it is in the process of being handled. The adjuster will call & come out to check the damage before my roofer does the work. Without accurate tenses, the whole timeline would get confusing

Artistic writing is one thing but when trying to convey information, accurate timeline is important

I'm a woman of the present, so mostly speak in the present tense. However, when telling or writing stories, some past tense is often involved.

I think it's dependent on what I'm talking about. I reckon I can use all 3 tenses differently depending on the situation.
