Glad to have my loving parents.I know it was hard for them at first when I was diagnosed with pituritary dwarfism at age 6.Mom saw something was not right, not growing the same as other kids in class. Then it was my dad and was taken to the doctor whom did refer me to a specialist. It hit them hard when the specialist said I have pituritary dwarfism.Tried growth hormones that did not work.I learned to live with this and they saw this.I knew that I had a normal life growing up just like the other kids.To this day, they see I do not let this hold me back being a great mom to a son that is 16 and a big sister to my two younger brothers.I also do what anyone does.I do drive with help of pedal extensions put on the gas and brake pedals.Plus they have watched the show I Am Shauna Rae whom also has this.

Thanks for sharing this. So many of us here on MSF had difficult, or even abusive parents, it's nice to read about someone who actually had concerned, supportive parents and who thrived as a result. Best wishes...

I am very glad your parents were so supportive @Stronglady1

You know I knew a Little Person in college. She embraced her height, even dressed as an oompa loompa for Halloween! She also mentioned that she goes to Little People's conventions.

glad you have supportive parents

I reccon if I did, my life would be very diffrent- for one, I'd have been diagnosed earlier. my parents refused to allow me to seek treatment, even threatening medical professionals
it was difficult

Most difficult part is buying clothing not going in the little girl clothing section.
