I'm sure this tragic act goes back very far. Yes, likely to pre-historic times.

I don't think classic depression has always been the primary cause.

Psych Medications:
* Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg
* Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg
* Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 500 mg

I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia.

I was thinking Samurai warriors.

People were more trying to survive? Any kind of disease up until modern times could kill you.
