I used to get confused and call the library the librarian. I'd be like "can we go to the librarian?"

I had a bit of a speech impediment and I'd say "will you whip up my whipper?" [will you zip up my zipper?]

I also had and still do have a speech impediment. Until second grade I would call a computer a "com-peter" I got torn a new one quite a few times by my classmates for that one.

My grandma would always say, "Let's go tinkle!" And I still tell myself (not out loud) that I need to go tinkle.

I could not say "s" sounds when I was little. I would ask to the playground to play on the "flings" and "flides". Had a dog named Rusty. I called her "my Ruffty".

For some reason I referred to two cherries with stems connected as a "two and two". No idea why.

I absolutely could not say "worchester" for years. I got so tired of being teased I went out in the backyard and practiced until I got it right.

When I was little, I could not say "strawberry milkshake" so I used to call it "pink milk" instead

I remember having a problem with b and v sounds, so I said cobbers instead of covers.

I more make crazy sounds than have weird names for things. Or just say things in a crazy exaggerated way. An example of the latter was with the word "chicken". Me saying that as I did always made my sister laugh. Some of my stuff drove my parrots nuts or they scratched their heads about me.

A common favorite made up word is "Shkuba!". Often I say this when I must endure something tough or strain to get up. This is tame compared to others.

I used to call pork chops bones. And my mom has stories of us being in the supermarket when I was two or three and I would be like, Mama buy bones. Buy me bones Mama. And everyone would look at us and I was a skinny little thing and they probably thought my mom was feeding me dog bones or something. So my Mom would very loudly correct me and say, it's not bones, it's pork chops!

You're not alone willowtigger. I still have trouble with words that have "R's" and "W's" particularly if it is the first letter of the word. Had speech therapy for years as a child. Still struggle. But it's fine. I've accepted how I talk.

Apparently, I thought the huge nightcrawler worms we have here in the warmer months were "snakes". To a little toddler, they would have looked huge.
