I was walking home from the streetcar, after work, on Wed. night, when 2 guys with knives jumped me.

They took my purse, and worse took my jewellery. I say worse because I lost a diamond ring I had inherited from my mother that had been in her family for several generations.

The police were really helpful and I gave them a photograph of the ring, which they said they'd circulate to pawn shops in case the thieves tried to sell it.

I'm pretty shaken up, but fortunately all my friends have been really supportive.

Oh Splitimage! I'm so sorry about your family ring. It somehow adds to the harm/insult when something of sentimental value is stolen.

Of course you are shaken up. Gentle hugs to you for that. Are you physically okay?

I'm so sorry! I hope you're okay. I know it can hurt to have tangible things taken away from you. Especially in that sort of situation. I'm glad you weren't physically harmed though.

I give you credit for even being able to talk about it, splitimage. I would be very shaken up for a long time if something like that happened to me.

I'm glad you're alright, and I do hope they catch these losers, and that they can recover the ring for you.

Just thought last night: its most likely going to get put on the black market, but i wouldnt know how to check that

Unless the black market sets up a stall on market day with a black cover on their stall to make it a black market

But maybe if they did that the polices would figure it out and get them all and throw them in jail

So idk

So sorry. That must have been terrifying. My wedding ring was stolen a few years ago and had my grandmother's diamonds in it.

Thanks for asking Lizzardlady. I'm ok. I'm just thankful I wasn't physically hurt. My friends and I have been checking the pawn shops and so far nothing, so I'm not hopeful about getting the ring back, so I've kind of accepted that it's gone. I'm still a little upset about that, but there's nothing I can do about it, so I'm just trying to accept it, mostly successfully.
