Thanks, all my dear friends who understand the situation. You're all so kind, and suggestions are helpful, and show a real grasp of what it's like.

I'm feeling a little less shaky today. I've got errands to run, so that will at least get me out of the house and give me the sense I'm doing something productive, and not ruminating.

We've got a lot of things on our minds besides this situation. We're under a fair amount of stress at the moment, mostly involving husband's work; but there have been other unwelcome developments lately, too.

CANDC, thanks for asking. I've been on an emotional roller coaster since before Christmas. There's been a general trend toward feeling better, but all currently upset. I need to restrict my on line time as it contributes to the downs.

Lately I've been unusually irritable, feeling more empathy and more guilt and I've had very low energy and I've been spending a lot of my time in bed. I did get to therapy today and I checked to see if a job I want is hiring but overall I just feel worn out.

I hear you lizardlady. I need to stop reading news right before I go to bed or wake up. They seem to feature all the worse news possible.

I think I have stopped the rollercoaster effect then I realize I have only toned it down so instead of Thunder Mountain at Disney I am on the kiddy roller coaster at the carnival. But that is an improvement!

Oh that made me laugh (the kiddy rollercoaster) but it’s a good visual analogy.

Yes I have to be careful with news these days too, even the local news can be a trigger for anxious thoughts.

Does anyone have any tips for getting enough information while not getting triggered? I find the old fashioned newspaper (I read a sensible quality one) is okay as I can pace myself. Internet isn’t so good as I just keep scrolling.

Hope people are okay today, I was a little under par physically but doing okay.

Yes, Discombobulated, I think newspapers are a good way to go. Or check major news outlets online; that way, what you choose to delve into is entirely your own choice.

I have to be careful how much network news I watch, and I definitely cannot do it right before bed or as soon as I'm awake.

I figure, the bulk of the world ignores me anyway, and seems to carry on without me as it always has.

I'm a little better today. I made the mistake of re reading some poems I wrote and it made me very sad. I did some sketching and writing to try to clear the cob webs. I'll leave it in T's office without him noticing.

I am tired. I woke up at 4:30 this AM. I'll try to get to bed early tonight.

I just got out of school. I'm listening to music and puttering around the internet.

Made a major nosedive today. I found out from an offhand comment made at my pdoc's office he is retiring next week. I freaked out at the time, but calmed down since then. I still feel like someone pulled the rug out from under me though. I've been seeing him since 1997! That's longer than I was married. The nurse practioner in his office is going to pick up my case. I only see him every six months for med checks, but still....

Uggh!! I remember when my T said he was retiring. What a nightmare! I had been seeing him for a long time, too. He became like a grandfather to me(probably not a good thing) You're strong...I'm sure it will be hard, but you'll be ok.

Thanks CallaLilly. You are right. I will be okay. It's the suddenness of it and all the other changes in my life the last year.
