Considering, I guess I'm ok. I tried to go to the store today but I ran into a ptsd problem. So I'll try again some other time.

I didn't sleep well and I drank a can of Mountain Dew, a can of Coke, a coffee Coke, a Hint water, and regular water. Yet I've barely eaten in 12.5 hours. So I'm not feeling the best physically or mentally right now. Plus its that day of the week anyways.

I had an experience yesterday that's bothering me. I've been reading articles about anxiety & ways to deal with fears. I'm asking myself if I can face a potentially scary situation today, because I need things at the store.

That’s good to hear that you’ve not had too much snow to shovel, hoping the rest of your winter is mild.

All good here thanks, having a cold spell by our standards but not cold by yours I’m sure!

Just okay. I'm a little rattled. A neighbour two houses down has, slowly but surely, been becoming more of a nuisance. He was running loud, dirty motors in his driveway this morning (on a Sunday, of all days!), revving their engines endlessly, and filling the entire neighbourhood with disgusting, dirty fumes. This was all just a little after 10 am, and it went on for almost an hour before I decided to go and see if I could reason with them.

I had not gotten any sleep last night, to speak of. He had started this racket just as I was heading of to try to catch a few zzz's.

I put on some clothes and went over to ask them to tone it down, or perhaps do it later if they could; and all I got for my trouble was insults, and spite, and demanding questions. So, I think they've built up such a poor attitude toward other people's rights to peace and quiet that they felt entitled to present a disappointingly united and ugly front. No apologies, just loud demands being made of me, and absolutely zero respect for the fact that I'm a small, white-haired lady. Don't get me started on what horrible behaviour they were modelling for their only son, a young teenager.

We were saddled with a next-door neighbour like this for a few years (it felt like a hundred). It was unpleasant, but it never turned into anything major, thankfully. But it was pretty awful for my nerves.

WHY are there so many people like this in the world??!! And why do they always live so close to me!?!

@MuseumGhost, they are everywhere. Your post recalled my own experiences, & I bet a lot of other people can relate.

Thanks for your understanding, Breaking Dawn. I know these situations can rapidly escalate, so I kept it calm and rational and to the point. But as I was walking home, I found I was involuntarily shaking my head.

We seem to have lucked-out with our newest neighbours who just moved into the house between ours and the disruptive, selfish people. These new folks were so considerate, and had their move so well-planned, that we never even heard them moving in. Which is really quite something, because our houses are small and are really only a few yards apart. I would hate to see their new little dream home become a source of unwelcome noise and stress for them.

@MuseumGhost, I'm so glad about your newest neighbors! Hopefully this will help change the vibe of your recent atmosphere.

Ohhh, @MuseumGhost . You have my heartfelt sympathy. Rotten neighbors can quickly make life miserable. Yikes. My hope is that even though they were defensive today (Sunday) when you spoke with them, they'll take into account what you said and tone down their nasty behaviors. If not, and if your other neighbors are also being disturbed, there is power in numbers. It may take both (or more) of you making complaints for the jerk neighbors to calm down.

Very sad about their kid.

I woke up 45 min ago. I'm still in bed, it's still early. It snowed here and still is. I have to go to class this AM. It's nice to still be in bed and reading the news honestly.

Hugs @MuseumGhost it sounds like you did everything you could to talk reasonably to these people, I’m glad you have nicer neighbours immediately close to you and hope that helps somewhat.
