I’ll take my packed snowy/icy roads over alligators any day!

Nammu, you can keep that white shyte. Gators are wicked, but they don't cover the road/ground for months on end. Not unusual to see them squished in the road in rural areas though.

The humidity in the south gets me. I have heard that the Everglades are fascinating and beautiful.
I'd say that California really is a magnificent state because we have every type of physical geography...desert, mountains, ocean, valleys, and of course the cool temperate forest of the redwoods. And it truly is gorgeous. The major downside is the cost of living, which is outrageous and prohibitive. Traffic aroundand in cities is absolutely horribel. And the state is 800+ miles long, so NorCal and SoCal really do seem to be separate from each other in very many ways. __________________ |

I once was honored to spend almost a week in the Boca Raton area with relatives. It was December, and we did all kinds of great sight-seeing and snorkeling. It was a nice break to have, in the normally (where I was living in Upstate NY) cold Winter months.
I have lots of beloved people in Florida. It is very comfortable in the Winter months. I understand very well why so many older folks go to live there. |
