This is going to sound nuts.

But growing up my mom and grandma would always complain of my "tap dancing" and said it was annoying.

But the reality is, I really want to pursue tap dancing as a hobby.

I don't think it'd go anywhere, like I wouldn't want to become a famous tap dancer.

But I live alone on the bottom floor of an apartment. My neighbors are awesome, got a couple kids and a dog, they could seriously care less if I made noise especially from the bottom floor.

I really think I should buy tap shoes just to see if anything comes of it. Why the heck not? What if I could actually tap dance really well, not just annoyingly?

Don't you ever have this weird childhood dream that you know won't go anywhere but you just want to indulge in it for the heck of it? That's what this is for me.

Go for it!

Can't think of anything similar for myself, back when I used to teach people to ride I had several adults who wanted to ride as kids, but did have the chance, take lessons. They all enjoyed it. A couple even went on to get their own horse.

Follow your dreams!

I couldn't believe it when I saw the title of your thread because I am writing a novel where tap dance plays a prominent role - my main character took dance as a child and he takes it up again. Good for you! Do you mind if I message you? I'm very interested in how you are learning it and asking some questions.

My tap shoes came today and they are AMAZING! They are a perfect fit and I can tell I'm a natural. I'm going to be having so much fun with these shoes!!!! They were not expensive, either, only $30 and they had them in my size in Wide which is so awesome. I've been playing with them since I got them.
