I was on Facebook for the first time in a few months and the attention seeking from some people I was in treatment with is crazy.

Posting your blood pressure and how many times you fainted is just dumb. I don't post "hey I"m having IP stomach surgery but first I need to see a cardiolgist because I have heart stuff going on too"

Thats just personal stuff. And I don't want people assuming stuff that is just transphobic stuff. I had to stop messaging someone because of that.

Do you post about stuff like physical ot mental health or other private stuff?

I absolutely don't post personal stuff on facebook.

I just keep my facebook very light-hearted. Mainly pictures of my family and what not. As far as anyone on facebook is concerned my life could look fantastic right now because I never post about my depression and what not. Certainly no mental health talk - that's off limits for me.

No way. If I feel like "talking" about a personal matter, I'll put it on my anonymous blog.

I used to as a teen, but not anymore. Private stuff should be keep as a secret since it could attract crimes or used against you. I'm still posting sometimes, but only travelling photos and I post it like some months after.

I got a new phone about three years ago and my daughter thought it would be cute to make me an Instagram account. I agreed and I post personal stuff on there for my one follower, my daughter. That is the extent of my social media influence (it's also a private account). It's funny.

I put almost nothing on social media, but of course I do post here and I do reach out for support sometimes so guess that’s not too dissimilar although obviously anonymous.

Not just no, but h e l l no! MSF and Reddit are the closest I have to social media. No Facebook, no tik tok, no nothing. I verge on being paranoid about personal info on line.

I maintain a Facebook account, but my posts are infrequent and mostly a photograph of what I’ve seen when I’ve been out walking.

I deleted nearly all of my other social media accounts last year. Stuff like X is way too toxic for me, and Instagram just made me feel even older than I am.

I mostly use it for following our local facebook community group, but that’s just a litany of whinges about (in no particular order): fireworks being set off, dog poo left on the footpaths, temporary traffic lights, and snapshots taken from video doorbells asking if anyone “knows who this is” who has just rung their doorbell!

I think some people do that because they're seeking those who can relate & support There are online groups for all sorts of topics, so I hope that they'd find one that would fit with their circumstances. The personal things I share are primarily about my volunteering. Especially the kitties needing adopting. Other than that, I only share exciting or somber news. The important things. I'm not going to discuss the daily minutiae of my life. I don't even do that with my bestie.

I don't even have any social media (like lizardlady, this site and Reddit are the only things I post on) because my ex was stalking me and constantly creating new accounts to try and do so, so instead of adding a person to my blocked list on FB or similar or keeping everything so "private" (making it harder for people I want to find me to find me and he could still try to add me if he just friended someone I was friends with), just changed my number, got phone numbers from everyone I wanted to deal with, and deleted everything.

When I was on though it was mostly hiking pictures but when I got manic or was splitting, I would post some crazy shyt.

I don't do facebook, instagram, X, or any of those platforms. I do care about my digital fingerprint. I am currently under a routine investigation by a military security agency.
My employer is unaware of my history of serious mental illness. What they see is what they get and they have every reason to be happy with what they have.
If "thought police" ever do become a reality, we are all in trouble.
Anonymity gives freedom to speak to things normally unsaid. Most states require bad behavior as a prerequisite for locking you up, though temporary exceptions can and are made.
If anyone asks...you don't know me.

When I had Twitter I once talked to my bestie publically like if no one was reading and said a lot of personal things but apart that I always was a private person
I would have all social media but never post
I'm talkative only in DM
I don't have Twitter and instagram anymore, I went on Tik tok only once
I mostly use Discord, WhatsApp and Reddit
