What excatly is it and what is happening right now? I know people are stranded and stuff due to flooding but no one seems to be panicking and people who aren't at the festival are finding it very funny and even the news anchor on CNN was smirking when talking about it.

I assume its a controversial event. I googled it but I still don't really understand.

There's nothing funny about loss of life or many people stranded. They couldn't get out. People are so sick if they think that's funny, like with The Titan and how it imploded.

There's controversy about the environment and gentrification around Burning Man, but I don't know much about it. It's supposed to be symbolic event.

Maybe what they mean is that it's ironic, that a festival that isn't friendly to nature gets trapped by nature: heavy flooding.

I agree that it's wrong to laugh about ppl dying. The leader of a fb group I followed posted a "joke" meme about the submarine that imploded. Ppl even posted underneath it that they thought it was funny. I left that group real quick.

I was going to look up more but I find it to be such a stupid name that I didn't look, even though I get why they call it that. I didn't know it was around the long and thought it was some kind of rock concert. Or rock band.

To me, it sounds like it wants to be a cross between Woodstock and Occupy Wall Street. That's how I'd describe it, even though I've never been and never want to go.

Whoever thinks it's funny to die, whether at Burning Man or in Titan, they ought to be put in the shoes of the people they ridiculed. I'd like to see them laugh then.

Sounds like the birth of a new cult to me. The name itself should scare people away

My mom told me it was people pretending like they were at Woodstock.

At least the rest of them all made it out ok.
