Oh, dear, I've forgotten the Christmas tree lights! I have enough lights of lots of colors to cover the big tree. I'll see to putting them on immediately, unless anyone has any objections.

Nammu, could you get some lights for the pine tree? (We'll pay you back. )

Can we have that stringy tinsel from the 70s and 80s? (I have no idea if that is still a thing but when I was a kid we covered our tree in it).

Yeah, I think you’ll have to raid attics to find that. I remember starting out so patiently stringing it on one strand at a time, then getting impatient and throwing it on in clumps. Then later when the tree was outside waiting to be taken to the dump the birds would come by to fetch the tinsel for nesting material.

Sometimes we kids would pile snow up in a hill and put the tree upright on top and try to burrow out a cave underneath.

According to Google it was called lametta and it fell out of favor because it harmed pets and very young children, who tended to eat it.

As expected Walmart doesn't sell the stringy things anymore. I just had to check . So we'll need some holiday magic to get that on the tree.

Here's some instrumental Christmas music for our party or otherwise:

Our Christmas miracle is here! I found some lametta on Amazon, and I bought some! Let's put it on the trees tomorrow. The packages will be at our meeting place, so stop by and put some on. You can listen to the music while you work, if you'd like. Yay! Just go to our Christmas music thread.

Click here to see our lametta, if you didn't see it before! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ND6TFFT...kCode=osi&th=1

I've been thinking. I suspect each of us asked Santa (our parents) for something we never got or we have something now we want but can't afford or find or get for some reason. How about we pretend there's some way that item can be provided at the Christmas gathering, There will be a big shed that will contain these items. I'll start: I want a 1968 Ford Mustang with a convertible roof, any color but white, white or cream leather seats, automatic transmission. Great shape, of course.

Who else has something you want? What is it?

All sounds good, Have any of you seen the new movie "A Christmas Story Christmas," about Ralphie when he's grown up and has a family. I'll bring that one, too.

Question: Should we have a "doctored" egg nog as well as regular?

Oh, no, I’ve not seen the new Ralphy movie. I’m excited to see it.

Yes to the doctored eggnog. Two punch bowls clearly labeled, or just one with bottles of different kinds of spirits for the daring. I have vanilla brandy it’s very good with the eggnog but I know others are more traditional.
