Christmas of 77. I woke up to an electric train going around the Christmas tree. I just about lost my mind.

I received a bridal and a saddle, under the tree. That meant I got a horse. I had to wait until spring to meet him.

A hamster cage when I was 9. I went and picked out the hamster a couple days later.

That's a hard one. My parents were good Santas. I guess the one where I got a girl baby doll with a red velvet dress. The dolls I'd picked out from the catalog had sold out. I named the doll Susan and carried her around a lot. She's somewhere in a box in my loft now.

My daughter has two Christmas presents she remembers best, the year she got her cabbage patch doll, and the year Santa gave her the target bear she wanted sooooooo much. She still has her cabbage patch and the adoption papers.

My favorite Christmas present as a kid is when my Mom surprised me and my sisters with a Cabbage Patch Kid. I was so happy to have her. That was the best.

I had a toy camera that took fake pictures and you had to develop them in water. I thought it was the best thing ever.

I had guinea pigs when I was growing up. I used to let them crawl all over me. I wouldn't even think about doing that now as all it is is really just a rat. Ewwww!!!!!

Ahhhh. The good ol' days of when kids used their imagination. Now kids have better phones than my parents did when they were 50.

That was always my only REAL Christmas wish. I had to wait until I was 42 & buy my horse for myself. Wasn't Christmas but sure felt like it

I seriously don't remember any "best" Christmas presents as a kid. My parents were doing the best they could at that time so Christmas presents though they were there, weren't anything memorable.

Lol....I think for my daughter it was her first pair of downhill skiis at 2 1/2 because we were planning a fun ski trip that year. As she outgrew her skiis she always got new ones for Christmas since our winter ski vacation was right after the New Year so I am sure getting skiis became predictable so we would really make that just an early vacation present & put other goodies under the tree for her

I remember getting a lot of snow as a kid. Perfect for skiing. Even now the resorts are having a hard time even making the fake stuff. It's sad.

TBH for me, having a horse would only ever be a pipe dream, I wouldn't be able to look after one, could not afford one anyways, would have nowhere to keep one, and wouldn't be able to learn how to look after one either

I'm glad you was able to have horses though

Personally, my childhood christmas wish was to have my own cat, I was just turning 18 when I finally was able to get my very own cat

I was always happy with whatever I got but I think I was especially pleased with my Sindy ballerina doll, she was so pretty.

The Sierra's around Mammoth were usually really good. We actually spent 20+ years winter skiing in Jackson Hole Wyo. Always great snow there

Sometimes when we have wanted something (cat/horse) & we finally get what we love it means so much more to us & we are even more thankful

I honestly can't remember anything "exciting" or "huge" memorable. But my parents definitely got us presents and I always had fun and was excited for Christmas. In the 6th grade I got a calendar of old world maps and I really loved it. I love getting calendars every year. Though now I pick them out myself. My parents also noticed that I liked the environment, art, and dance, and geared their prezzies that way. Also, Barbies always made me happy.

a disco ball

you turned it on and it went round and round (the two balls alternating direction)

Just a couple of days later, the thing fell from my desk and one of the two balls got dented and cracked

now when it goes round it makes sound as if the thing's worn out

it's sad
