Does anyone else garden? What do you grow?

It's summer here and I'm growing several types of chile peppers, three varieties of tomatoes, tomatillos, arugula, scallions, and lettuce. I also have an herb garden. I've been able to harvest some serrano chiles. The other plants are flowering, so I'll have to wait a bit to see how productive they are. I find it therapeutic and love being able to grow vegetables I can't find easily here. I also grow some flowers.

Hi @rechu - wow you sound like you have a great garden. I used to grow broccoli and beans and tomatoes and melons but the wild animals decided they liked my "produce department" so I quickly got out of gardening. They even eat the flowers.

You are forunate to be able to garden.

I have done a couple of raised bed gardens using water containers used for livestock. Mostly tomatoes, bananna peppers & eggplant. Had so much to clear last year on my farm I focused on that but my tomatoes were great. May expand some this year if I have the time. We are just starting to think about gardens now but a couple of more months till safe to plant because of frost. Definitely doing the same as last year & drilled holes in one so plants should not get drowned in water this year

I love what I call "playing in the dirt." Like CANDC I gave up on growing veggies. Local rabbits were happy I put in a buffateria for them. I have multiple other kinds of beds around the yard. The weather here has been so wet this winter with no freezes the plants all think it's spring. They are blooming and putting out growth buds.

I was lucky that my chile plants made it through last winter. Below freezing temperatures happen sometimes, but the temperature doesn't stay that low for long. So, I didn't have to start from scratch.

My attempt at tomatoes last year was a bust, and none survived the winter. I've read you have to bring them inside when it gets cold, but I don't have a setup for that. I'm encouraged by the number of flowers they are producing. I hope it will be a better year.
