I'm a tree hugger from way back. Respect living things. That said I would love to eliminate wasps from the face of the planet!
 Thursday one of the buggers stung me on my left hand. I'm allergic to the damned things. Smeared Benadryl cream on it and loaded up on Benadryl pills. My hand still looked like a catcher's mitt that night. My hand was back to almost normal today. Then another of the b@stards nailed me on the right wrist and elbow. More Benadryl cream and pills. This afternoon another one got me on the left hand, right next to the one from Thursday! I found where I think the buggers were coming from and soaked it in wasp spray. Both my right arm and left hand hurt like blue blazes. I am definitely having myself a pity party. Felineangel pegged it when she termed the beasts "Satan's spawn!" I just saw the title of your post and started reflexively reaching for an epinephrine injection pen. It has warmed up enough here that they are buzzing everyplace and my neighbor Ed came by. HIs face was all red and he didn't have any eyebrows and his mustache was gone. I asked if it was me, or had he done something with his appearance? Apparently he had been mowing and ran over a yellow jacket's nest he got stung several times which made him mad. So, he poured their hole full of gasoline and ignited it and blew back on him. He is always into something bizarre, one never knows what to expect. Sorry you got stung, I hate those those things.

Just don't do like Ed and burn your face up like weiner that was left on the grill for too long...lol. It did not hurt him really so I find it funny.

Oh I hate wasps.....I always keep a 25ft spray can of wasp killer with me when outside.
Oh your swelling sounds like what I looked like after getting stinging nettle on my hand a few years ago. Hand & whole arm up to my elbow was swollen like a balloon. All these years later & that hand & arm is still slightly swollen. Ugh this year my fight is with ticks. I have already been bitten twice & caught one last night before it bit me. Tiny little black ticks that can't feel & hard to see. Usually don't see ticks till May but warm winter & early spring this year __________________  Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. Sorry you got stung @lizardlady ...
 I had two inside my cottage just this past week! I guess they got in while I was coming in. I'm slow and have to prop the door open while entering with the walker. Got them out alright but it scares the crap outta me because I can't run away from them anymore. I opened my door today and one was sitting right there on the pedestal by the door. I smashed that sucker flat with the tip of my cane! I dedicate that one small victory to you @lizardlady ...

VA Girl, I usually slather myself in bug goo if I am going to be working outside. Both times I got nailed today I was just walking to the barn to feed the horses. Didn't see the need for bug spray.

I just got nailed again! I was pulling weeds in the yard when one of the buggers flew in and stung me. I may buy stock in the company that makes Benadryl. I think I am single handedly keeping them in business.
