It’s an unfortunate portrait. Red is not Charles color. But the artist is known for this style so it wasn’t unexpected.

Agreed. He's an awesome talent but wow...that palette would best be put to use on some old particularly cranky Viking king. The butterfly symbolism was interesting and ok to use I thought. I wonder what the royals really think of it all?

Yeah his overt cheating on Diana turned me off of him. He was such a spoiled cad.

Reading up on this now. If one had known of 'tampongate' [as it was called] how could it not immediately spring into one's mind upon seeing the painting? Did the artist not hear of that event? Does he not own a clue? Oh man...this makes it all the more comical!

Its diabolical. They seem to be ignoring it. The artist was 23 when tampongate broke. I think it was at least unconscious!

I think both Charles and Diana were victims of societal and, particularly, royalty expectation. Yes what he did was bad but he was prohibited from marrying Camilla and was forced into marriage of conveniences. . I honestly don’t see him as spoiled brat. He and Camilla were forced to be apart but at the end love prevailed. They suffered for nothing (except that of course they had William and Harry). Charles, Diana, Camilla. Monarchy is a cruel thing. It didn’t need to be that way

There's something about that painting that just creeps me out. Maybe the sheer size?
