Bob Newhart passed away today. He was 94!

Listened to his comedy albums growing up. I may still have them. Part of one of those skits stuck with me over the years. He is portraying a driving instructor talking to a new student.

You were going how fast!?!?

In reverse!?!?

IN THE DRIVEWAY!?!?!!!

Saw one of his live performances before he got his first TV show. I love that he had audience members falling out of their seats laughing with no cursing or off color "humor"

RIP Bob.

Didn't he have a sitcom type show with like the most shocking ending in TV history or something?

He was great and worked right up to the end. Loved him in Big Bang. Kinda surprised he was only 94, thought he was older than that.

He had two shows. In the first he played a psychologist who lived I Chicago. The humor is the show mirrored his stand up stuff. In his second show he was a married innkeeper in Vermont. He was surrounded by unusual characters. The final episode ended with him waking up in bed with his wife from the first show having dreamed the whole thing about being an innkeeper. Doesn't sound so funny the way I told it, but it was.

Bonus points to those who remember Larry and his brothers from Newhart.
"I'm Larry."
"This is my brother, Darrell."
"This is my other brother, Darrell."

Nammu, I didn't know he was on Big Bang until I saw a re-run with him in it. He was great doing classic Newhart kind of humor.

The Darrells were the best. Only a dream would explain that freudian nightmare!

My hubby once had two coworkers who were dumber than dirt who hung out with each other. We dubbed them the Darrells.
