Watch as a Drone Summits Mount Everest in Stunning Fashion – Moss and Fog

4minutes and 12seconds worth of good time spent. I'm not into the swarms of mountaineers that litter every year but was always curious about the visuals of Everest

I should mention mossandfog.com is a pretty neat site overall.

Amazing visuals all right, mar dhea. I don't have to climb it now to see all that heh

Yes, and all the dead bodies of climbers who died in Everest 'dead zone' piling up, where it's very hard to reach them. But I heard they finally did a bodies retrieval operation recently which was successful. The allure of the mountains can be fatal.

Thanks for that. I have exactly zero desire to outfit myself tin the bulky clothing and expose myself to the cold arid air of the mountains. I imagine what it must be like to need to pee in those conditions and nope, no thank you

I've always wondered about the extreme mountaineering potty situation...The high calorie/liquids intake would require some frequency wouldn't it? There' a lot about this sport I don't understand technically but the requirements of the nethers has to be a pretty tough hurdle. Was amazed with the vid...didn't realize it was only released a few weeks ago.

Hi mote! I always thought it so haunting that the dead would be up there for years and people would pass them...able to do nothing. Thanks for the info...I went looking and found a good article about the retrieval operations.

Heya @mar dhea, nice to see you👋👋 Oh for sure, that would be spooky all right and a stark reminder. I wonder if any climbers lose their nerve at that point and start heading back to the base camp.

Very welcome my friend. Great stuff. Yup I'll find me a good doco about it eventually. The story will be quite touching too in some ways, because the families finally getting their loved ones back. Epic.🙏

Yes, me too. Made me think why they'd still even let people climb it, until the bodies were retrieved. But, you know, economic pressures and this and that...

It's an awesome thing that mountain...not to be morbid but I found that so far in 2024 nine have perished. Another stat said that 3 of those nine are 'missing' and the deaths unconfirmed. It's pretty mad. I'd like to try Kilimanjaro in Africa...that one is just a giant uphill walk. Nothing too crazy...just walk up. Lots of sweating and work but it's quite doable for many.

Wow, nine already. They couldn't stand to see the nice corpse free mountainside could they.

Wow Kilimanjaro would be just mind-blowing too, mar dhea, please do it. Just reading your description sent visions of animals and scenery and vastness, everything into my mind. It even snows on the mountain too, if I recall correctly. Just fabulous.💚

You know what mountain I'd like to hike/climb up @mar dhea? Mt Chimborazo in Ecuador, an volcanic mountain. Have you heard of it? Because not only would it be just an awesome experience, but it's highest point on planet. Everest summit is the highest point above sea level but Chimborazo summit is farthest distance from the centre of the earth. Highest point on planet. So it's special.

Now that's really cool!...I don't know how I missed this fact because I'm always sucking up earth-y, geology sorta info. Reading up on Chimborazo right now and says it can be challenging. Being what it is makes it quite a prize! The pics I'm seeing show it's pretty impressive. I'll look for some youtube vids later. God I love hills and mountains...not really been up anything over 1500-2000 ft. *heavy sigh* I'm forever exploring mountainous terrain on Google maps!

Couple of yrs ago I watched a good youtube vid of a guys trip up there with a group. There are a few vids to choose from but I found this fellers film and commentary very good. Edited really well. Will have a peek for it.

Chimborazo! Glad ta meet ya! I still have to look for vids but the pics so far tell me that aside from it's chief accolade this rock is serious real-estate. Thank you mote for the introduction...it's height info was pretty much need to know stuff in my books.

Hiya Nammu!...Well Alex*...What is the most famous mountain I've never heard of?

*Nods to Mr. Trebek there...anyone else's name doesn't sound right yet.
