I finally stopped testing positive after about two and a half weeks. Yeah, I can safely leave the property. While I no longer test positive I still still feel like poop. Saw my PCP Wednesday for a regular appt. Talked to her about the Covid symptoms. She told me they will last THREE MONTHS! Part of me is disheartened over the idea of another three months of this shyte. On the other hand it gives me a sense of relief.
Oh, if one more person tells me they had Covid and it wasn't all that bad because they were over it in a few days I just might punch them in the nose. |

Really glad you've stopped testing positive, but I'm sorry you're still feeling awful. I have a friend who caught it in the first year of the pandemic and it turned into long Covid, Please keep looking after yourself.

I had covid three times. Out of those three two times I was sick a long time after. One of them was ok.
So even though covid itself was manageable, what came after was rough. Yes it went on for months. It was awful. It were secondary infections and stuff I kept getting because my body was weakened by covid When I hear people say that covid is just like a cold, I want to hit them too. No it’s not like that |

Thanks Divine. I needed to hear this today. I'm having a really rough day today. Walking to the barn (100') and back left me shaking. Came here to whine. Your reply lifted me up a bit.

It takes time to recover. I hate covid. I don’t want to get it again. But it’s on a rise again. Did you get a new vaccine by the way? I just got mine two weeks ago. Pharmacist recommended to mix and match so if you had Moderna get Phiser now.

I'm not sure the vaccine is available in my area yet, but plan to get it. Gawd I am tired of being so tired. |

Hi @lizardlady, if it makes you feel any better, I got Lyme Disease back in 1998 and I feel like I have Long Lyme. (Bring out the violins... LOL)
Anyway, I had COVID 2 years ago in October. But I had the same flu-like symptoms three months after AND, believe it or not, three months BEFORE! Try to take very good care of yourself -- don't push, avoid stress. __________________ Major Depressive Disorder; Sleep Apnea; possibly on the spectrum Nuvigil 50mg; Effexor 37.5mg Wellbutrin 100mg; meds for blood pressure & cholesterol |

I had COVID last week. I am much better now although I get tired easily. I do keep having dizzy/nauseous spells, mostly in the evening as well as headaches. It's weird and I don't know if it's because of the COVID or not. I will be glad when I am 100%. I act like I'm 100% but that's just because there's a lot going on and I don't have time to be sick. I did sleep a ton last night and then took a 3 hour nap this afternoon so hopefully that will help.
You can do your own research on this, especially because I forget where I read it, but you should wait about 3 months after having COVID to get the shot because you have antibodies in your system for those months. I'm going to get my flu shot soon and my COVID shot in late November. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, GAD, OCD. Beyond the Rainbow, thanks for mentioning waiting to get my Covid shot. CDC says wait three months.

I wondered if I had/have it. This morning is the first day I haven't had a headache in the last week or so. Persistent hacking cough for a week along with an odd metallic taste in my mouth. That last symptom is something I've never had to my memory. Anyway, whatever it was finally seems to be on it's way. I hope you're doing ok LL. My sister tested positive a year ago and she was mobile after a couple of weeks with no long term problems. Brother-in-law as well. Both are retired. I don't think folks are guaranteed to have symptoms long term. Some get over it fairly quickly apparently. Not 2nd guessing your Doc...maybe she just wanted you to know it possibly could take some time.

How are symptoms today? I really should have gotten tested. I had a self-test kit here at some point but couldn't find the thing. Wondered if a doc trip was a good idea but just decided to hibernate just in case I did have it. I likely didn't but it was certainly a weird little whatever-it-was. Just a slight cough and no headache today. Metallic taste I mentioned is just about gone. That's what made me wonder if it was Covid. Very strange and pronounced.

I would really encourage you to make sure you are getting enough Vitamin D. By that I mean that your blood levels are higher than 40 ng per ml. Prior to 2008 I would get three colds a winter. I had an abusive boss so that would be disastrous for me. (he would literally spend the day going through my work and I would come back to a meeting with mangers) -- so I had to find something that would end colds. I tried Vitamin C - garlic etc. I finally came across Vitamin D and got my blood level tested. It was 5 ng per ml. I got it up to 40 + and I have had two colds since 2008. In fact I still haven't had covid... and my last cold of any kind was in 2019. Zero cold of any kind since then. There are studies that show less flu (and Covid) with higher levels of Vitamin D. |

Yep, have my supplies. I stock up on supplies before hurricane season starts. My area is under tropical storm watch. Hunker down sounds lovely. Sprawl on the sofa, watch the idiot box, read, nap. Sounds like heaven!

Wondering if you're ok today. You out of the way of the worst of storm weather?
