What are some things you do to take your mind off of the stresses of daily life?

I like to read and go for walks!
Thanks for this!

Read mostly, watch tv and pass time online. I also do paint by number on my phone.

Read, practice violin or ukulele, play videogames, watch shows or movies on my streaming services online, draw or paint, journal, exercise, meditate, study music theory. Those are the main ones I think. Occasionally I’ll play TCG (trading card games) like yugioh, magic the gathering etc, or play those tabletop rpg boardgames, I have some single player ones and those are a lot of fun. They take a while to set up though and they take a lot of time like several hours so I don’t do them as often. Another thing I’m doing is learning about chess and trying to get better at it. I like crafts too but I’m not great at those. Someday I’d like to be able to crochet. I have the stuff to do it I just need to actually learn how and stick with it.

Do my own manicures at home. I'm new to this and I'm finding it such a joyful hobby. Whilst initially expensive to set up it will definitely save me money in the long run vs going to a salon. And the joy lies in the fact that I know I did them myself!

I read a lot - all genres. I walk and cycle (slowly). I have a very active interest in astronomy, specifically observing the night sky, and I spend a lot of time reading and planning what I’m going to observe (given the terrible weather here in the UK, i spend more time planning than observing!). I’m a big nature lover too, and enjoy watching the wildlife in the garden and surrounding area.

It occupies itself most of the time. Profound case of ADHD going on here. If I try to concentrate on things, even things think I should enjoy, it more than often derails me and sends me off on a topic a minute. Not too productive. Occasionally the chemicals and stars are in proper alignment and I can periodically do the things I used to. The stimulant Adderall is a miracle but a side effect is insomnia. I can't use it more than a couple of days at a time.[it's not that the dose is too high or I'm taking it at the wrong time...with that stuff insomnia is a legitimate possible side-effect.]

Anyway, the internet seems to be a tool my brain enjoys. I can have 20 windows open on all sorts of topics and always find more. My brain seems to like that option. Rather it not be like that as much but there it is. Non-fiction books and various magazines are always on hand. Again I have to cater to the brain constantly wanting a different direction. Occasionally I tinker with artistic sorta endeavors but not often. When I do get engrossed with something I can really be productive but that's pretty rare. I used to draw and paint a little for money but I can't promise that anymore. Haven't done it for years. Just a few things for my own purpose.

Thankfully I can walk and exercise/stretch a bit. Brain can be wherever it wants to be if I'm doing rote physical activities. I should mention that most of my adult life was spent doing manual labour. Rote activity....things I could do and still have my brain mostly off in dreamland. Thankfully it wasn't so absent that I wound up with missing or mangled body parts. Still intact with a minimum of bumps and scars! A friggin' wonder really.

blahblahblah...pardons for all that...question made me pause and think is all.

Yup, I like to walk in nature and also read too, naturalforest. I'm glad I'm interested in different things too, because it makes it easier to occupy the mind, especially with the internet because I only ever used to read non fiction from library etc anyway. And some programmes on tv, video, radio, dvd... as, well, back then. And also music, which is available everywhere. Probably even in the jungles of Borneo.

Same as @mar dhea, it occupies itself. I struggle to empty it.

I take Nuvigil for daytime sleepiness from Sleep Apnea. It seems to help a tiny bit with focus.

I can barely do anything now. Prozac completely destroyed me two years ago and my Dr could have cared less. I painted my room last two days but I never know when I'm going to feel decent or bad.
And been selling stuff on eBay.
