Oh, I love Diane Mott Davidson! I read them as soon as they come out. Have you ever tried any of her recipes? They're pretty good!

Currently I am reading a biography of Patty Hearst, written by Shana Alexander. If you say "who?" to either of those names, you are way too young. What book are you reading?

I am reading Intimate Journeys: Stories from Life-changing Therapy. Author and psychotherapist James Bugental writes about 5 different clients he worked with during the 60s. He is a humanistic psychologist and practices existential psychotherapy. He intersperses his clients' cases with his own thoughts. You really get a feel for how deeply involved this therapist is in the therapy with his clients and how deeply he cares and wants to help. The 60s setting is very interesting--things were a little different back then! What book are you reading?

I just read (it only took about 2 hours) the most hilarious book called "The only bush I trust is my own" I suggest it to anyone who needs a great laugh, but who are not offended by gratuitous swearing. It was great...

Also reading "The Future American Dictionary" and "Imperial Hubris"

I'm a political junkie.

Candy I loved Shana Alexander's book about Patty Hearst!

I haven't tried one of Diane Mott Davidson's recipes yet. For those who don't know this author, her main character is a caterer and each book is about a catered event which has a theme (this one is the caterer's own wedding!). The recipes for the events that Goldy, the main character, is catering are sprinkled throughout the books! Very 'novel' idea. hehe

All the recipes look delicious. This one has mentioned spinach phyllo squares and I love both so if there's one in there for that, I might try it. What book are you reading?

Right now Im reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, and just finished one by James Patterson. His books have me at the edge of my seat but I can finish one in a day or two, love em. What book are you reading?
One book I always go back to though is "A Return to Love" by Marriane Williamson, just makes you feel like your life has purpose and meaning.

I love that about Patterson. I fly flew them, often sacrifising sleep lol. Have you read his romantic books?

Silver Angela's Ashes is an intense read. But oh so good. Its an amazing story of survival. Prepare yourself, its emotional!!

Well I just finished the book Go Ask Alice, and now I'm reading Perfect for about the sixth time. I forget what the author's name is, but it is a good book.

I'm on Book 3 of The Seventh Tower series, by Garth Nix. I read his Abhorsen Trilogy and liked it and found books 1-3 of this 5 book (I think) set in a single volume so thought I'd give it a try. I have to rest sometimes as the action gets too scary for me :-) I use to skip paragraphs and pages of books, kind of like not looking when there's scary parts of movies, but a bit hard and stupid to do in a book What book are you reading?

Just finished "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Am almost finished with Amy Tan's "The Hundred Secret Senes". And thoroughly enjoying it. Have just started Dr. Phil's "Life Strategies" and "Self Matters". But I think they are both headed to the garage sale box.

I liked Angela's Ashes, but the following books made him sound like whiner in my opinion.

I just finished Made from Scratch by Sandra Lee. I had no idea of the troubled childhood she had.

Oh, yeah, I saw a "biography" show on Sandra and it was extremely interesting; I didn't like her before but now I admire her even if I still am not into her style.

Perna,

I didn't really like her at all before I read her book. My Aunt bought it and we share similiar taste in books, so she sent it to me. I have a lot more respect for her. Before I thought she was phoney, and too "sweet". But now I realize where it's coming from.

Raynaadi...I didn't realize James Patterson wrote romantic books? Do you like em? I just finished Cross, and want to get his new one.

Perna....I just started "Eat, Pray, Love", but I think this will be a novel that is going to change my life, at leased I hope so.

I am at a point where my anxiety is so bad that I have to read to get my mind off of it. So any new books people can recommend to me would be great!
