This morning, we went out to breakfast. After that, we went to the pharmacy to pick up my asthma med I phoned in Friday morning. While picking up the asthma med, I realized I'd left my purse at the restaurant. We didn't get the asthma med though because they hadn't received a call-back (and you didn't call me Friday or Saturday or Sunday or Monday to tell me this, why? And you didn't call the doctor back, why?) So, we leave the pharmacy and go back and pick up the purse. I decide I'll deal with the pharmacy tomorrow morning; give them a little more rope to hang themselves :-)

So, next chore, cat to the vet's. Two tries ago we wanted to get both cat's appointments he same time only one cat didn't cooperate so we called and cancelled. I decided to make an appointment for 2 different days the next time; the first one went off fine, without too much bloodshed (my husband does the fast movement, try to grab cat with leather gloves on and then wonders why the cat doesn't like that?) but the next day, this cat couldn't be found. Fine. Cancel and reschedule. It's been a month so I rescheduled for 3:30 this afternoon and didn't tell the cat this time I'm safe for the rest of the day! However, 3:00 comes around and I've located him under the king sized bed where even my poking him with a long instrument can't get him out. So I try food, then laser pointer, nothing doing. Call and cancel the appointment and 2 minutes later he saunters down the stairs. Catch and call to tell "Denise" I was too hasty, I'll see her in a few minutes :-) I convince my poor husband who wants a nap to drive us since it only takes 15 minutes for the appointment, he can take a nap when we get back. We set off.

A mile away I remember I left the chicken cooking on the burner of the stove I'm safe for the rest of the day! and trying to tell my husband, he doesn't understand so by the time he does, it's too late to turn back so we take me and the cat to the vet's and drop us off and he comes home, turns off the pot on the range top and comes back for us. When he dropped us off, he came in the "wrong" entrance so I had to walk around the car to get to the sidewalk (in the rain). When he came back, he came in the correct way but stops and doesn't notice we're a ways up the other entrance way, in case he came in that way again. He doesn't see our wild waving (it is pouring rain now) or us walking in the middle of the street directly in front of his view. I'm a largish woman and I have a huge cat carrier with a 14 pound 2 oz. cat in it (so much for worrying about his eating) but he "didn't see" us I'm safe for the rest of the day!

But we're home now and everyone's/everything's done (except having to get the meds tomorrow, only the 3rd or 4th time in a row I've had problems) and the chicken is parboiling again before I put it in the barbecue sauce so it can be cooked outdoors on the grill. Wait a minute, it's raining out, no cooking outdoors. So, guess I'll have to broil it. Wait a minute, the smoke detector is in the ceiling of the stairwell where we cannot reach it to turn it off. Hmm, looks like I'll have to see if I can get a husband with a magazine up there to fan it when it goes off. I'm safe for the rest of the day!

Glad you finally made it home safe & hope the chicken turns out great, without setting off the fire alarm.

Perna, the pharmacies leave all the checking and calling totally up to YOU. All they do is send the fax and if you're lucky, they'll get a fax in return. If they don't, it's up to you to give the dr's office what for, for not answering the fax in the first place... that is, if you thought to call the pharmacy before you went to pick up your meds! I'm safe for the rest of the day! Did I say "incompetence"?? I'm safe for the rest of the day!

I put my cat in the carrier the night before. LOL

Wow what a day!

I feel lucky that my pharmacy delivers my meds to me for free. I just have to tell them when I call it in that I want it delivered and the little man brings it to me in the Drug Bug...its a VW Bug and that's what they call their delivery cars. I think they are so cute just zipping around town. Everytime I see them it brings a smile to my face.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day for you.

I won't have any problem with the pharmacy, I just have to go in is all and it's the 4th time in a row I've had to go ask them about a prescription being wrong, changed, last time they called the wrong phone number, etc. The pharmacist will get on the phone right then if they didn't already yesterday (which they better have :-). I'm just nervous because I lose track of my "goal" being to get the medicine and I end up places I don't want to be I'm safe for the rest of the day!

Almost had to jump the counter and punch the "Just calm down" clerk but, like I thought, the pharmacist called the doctor and solved it. Couldn't do that Friday when they promised it would be ready or yesterday when I came by at 1:00 and got the "your doctor hasn't called back" message. I'm hoping for a red star or something on my account like they do at the vet for mean animals? I'm safe for the rest of the day!

((((Perna))))),
I can so empathize with your pharmacy situation! I've had scripts lost twice by them (different pharmacies) and am now trying to get some meds. my doctor called in. It just makes me want to scream! Then you spend all day or a couple of days figuring out the situation! Ugh!!!!!!!!! I'm sick of it. I WANT MY MEDS AND I WANT THEM NOW! Take care.

I think if my husband hadn't been part of the day I would have had that problem too wickedwings. But I almost started laughing on the way to the vets when I realized I'd left the chicken cooking on top of the stove. The laughter had been bubbling up from the left-the-purse while not-getting-the-prescription. I mean, those things just don't happen like that very often except in stories.

My biggest problem was my own anxiety getting in there with the "what ifs" and I was able to squash or defy them pretty well, just patiently solving each problem straight-forwardly as it came up. Having a calm, patient husband at my side helped enormously.
