Just read a "Did you know" that said all polar bears are left-handed.

How do they know, they do a survey and ask the polar bears? Polar Bears...

Polar Bears... Polar Bears... Polar Bears... Polar Bears...

Handedness is very interesting in humans; over 90% of people the world over are right-handed. The world is set up for right-handed people so the left-handed ones have a few years shaved off their lifespan expectancies because it's "dangerous" out here, LOL.

Kermit the frog is left-handed too.

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
Polar bears, native to the Artic region of the world, have been found to be left-handed or, for better words, left-pawed. Just as all humans have a dominant hand, so do animals. Apparently eighty percent of dogs prefer their right paw over their left and studies on cats have concluded that approximately twenty percent preferred their right paw. thirty-nine percent preferred their left paw and fourty-one percent were found to be ambidextrous. Polar bears, sometimes called the northern bear, sea bear or white bear; make use of their dominant left paw particularly when hunting. When stalking prey, the polar bear draws its' right paw across its' black nose so as to cover up the darkest part on it's body and futher camouflage itself. The polar bear then approaches it's prey and uses its' stronger, dominant, left paw to tenderize its' prey before enjoying his meal.

Find this book, it's really good/helpful and scientifically-based (but written by a science journalist so not a difficult read) instead of just trying to make left-handers feel less inferior or more superior or something:

http://www.amazon.com/Left-Hander-Sy.../dp/0679744681

We become left-handed from pregnancy or birth trauma or something I didn't quite understand having to do with testosterone across the placenta or something.

I imagine the Polar Bear is just hard-wired to be left dominant if it's true. They're branch offs from the Brown/Grizzly bear:

http://www.wunderground.com/climate/PolarBears.asp

Would be interested to know the Brown bear's handedness.

I'm left handed but I'm not a polar bear.

Which hand do you wipe your bum with?

I few years ago I broke some bones in my right hand and had awful trouble wiping my bum.... Oops! TMI ... Polar Bears...

Yes, when I was in the hospital and they had to give me fluids and put the drip in the "wrong" hand then asked me to go for them, that was awkward Polar Bears...

Maybe this is the reason why America is in billions of dollars in debt. Because we spend money on researching stuff that no one cares about.
