Every year inductions to the Rock and Roll hall of fame come around and every year there is one glaring omission--Rush. It does not make sense, here are the facts
Rush in its current lineup has been performing and recording since 1968. In terms of album sales they are the fifth top selling rock act of all time. Their influence on other muscians is almost endless. Neal Pert is arguably one the the top drummers in all of rock history, Geddy Lee's other worldly warble is unique among male vocalists and his bass playing is nothing short of fantastic. Alex Lifeson guitar work is superb with huge amount of depth and range in his playing. Those three guys put forth a powerful and complex sound that is simply mind blowing to see live. They are also excellent songwriters, with deep well thought lyrics. Yet not even an attempt at a nomination, all of you Canadians should be offended as they are your fellow countrymen. Yet Madonna, dancer and pop singer waltzes right in. What the f...k gives!!! Fortunately Rush is unfazed and have publicly stated that they could care less. Still I think its a damn crime. Sorry for the rant, just got caught up in thought. |

You're right Rush absolutely should be in the rock and roll hall of fame. When I was a teenager I listenned to Rush almost constantly and I still think that their music is brilliant.
But as a Canadian I can be happy that Leonard Cohen was inducted - he's a brilliant song writer. He's also my all time favourite poet. --splitimage |

An incredibly underrated singer-songerwriter from the 60s who unfortunately lost his life to suicide. He is truly amazing.
