As you might be able to tell I am new here. Why are the top fields pastle blue and the bottom fields (or posts) highlighted biege???

Those are the default colors for this site. If you wish to change the colors to your liking...go to "My Profile" click on "Edit Display" and choose from a drop down that has a number of different color schemes to choose from under "Which stylesheet/skin do you want to use"

The top posts are "sticky" posts, meaning they don't move, they're always on top. And thats why they're a different color.
