As you all know I am a lover of animals and after we released Max the Squirrel we had this very large cage with nothing to fill it - so I rescued two Chinchilla's and we are just loving our standard gray Chins.

Katie is 1 year old
Erin is just a baby at 12 weeks old.

They love to romp around the house at night and they get along well with our three dogs....... they are a hoot to watch as they interact with each other.

I am fixing up the cage that Max use to live in for the Chins and I will place a few pics of it once it is finished...... in the mean time enjoy these PICS of Katie & Erin.

They also love raisins and sunflower seeds My New Chins - (2). They have great little hands that hold the treat and nibble away.

We had 2 also, purchased one a rescued the other. They are great pets, gentle, smart and really, really soft and cuddly. Very cute too, big ears like a mouse, body like a small rabbit, and tail and hands like a squirrel. A really different and fun pet to have.

I took them to my special needs class and they were a real hit. The kids loved the fact that they "bathe" in dust. It was so much fun to watch them role around in the dust and then shake it off. The chinchillas were also very gentle with the kids. It was amazing to watch even the most hard to reach children become calm and relaxed while holding the petting the chins.

Very cool pets, congrats.

I really like them. I was looking at one in a pet store yesterday. My husband did inform me when I showed him these pictures, "I personally don't find them adorable" :-) so I kind of doubt I'll be getting one anytime soon?
