I'm not much into playing video games etc, but I thought that having a Wii would be a good way to get me off my lazy arse and move a bit. Got a Wii !!!!!!!!!!!

Well it certainly does that and today, I'm feeling muscles I haven't felt in years....LOL. I think this is going to change me physically..it won't get me to loose lots of weight, but it sure will help to get me moving again...and that's the important thing!

It's easy to use....it's fun and if you are a competitive soul as I am, it's a blast to play against an oppenent.

Yep, I do think this game console was a good investment!

I have a wii and I love it. I really like to play tennis put I usually get a little carried away and end up sore for days, have fun and do be careful not to overdo it.

Oh I'm so jealous!! I want one too, and yes, especially for the Wii Fit. Our next-door-neighbor has a Wii and it was so fun to play some of those games.

But it's too expensive, and most stores in my area are out of stock...like permanently out-of-stock!

Yes, the cost was high, and I had to rationalize spending the money on something that I normally would never bother with.

I ordered mine online. I noticed all the stores were out of stock and I found a place that shipped it next day to me. It's not the most basic model...but not the most expensive one either.

The bowling game is a fav of mine as I used to bowl in 3 leagues a week years ago and loved it. I feel all the muscles from playing about 6 games yesterday....but it was just so much fun Got a Wii !!!!!!!!!!!

Behindthemoon, I have no idea which one is better. I have never played on a PS2 before. About the only thing I can say is that the games I received with the Wii, they are pretty basic...not much in the line of graphics as in some of the games for the PS2 etc. I am not a gamer in that sense of the word. I only got the Wii, to get me off my duff and move Got a Wii !!!!!!!!!!!

The Wii is newer and packs a processor roughly 3X the power of PS2, plus it has full motion sensing controls. The PS2 is roughly half the price and is easily obtainable. As for which is better is all a matter of what games you like and how you like to play them.

PS2 has an enormous library of titles across all genres ranging from kiddy to hardcore and it also has a built in DVD player with prog scan. Wii does not play movies in any format.

The Wiis set up allows for more physically active gaming, but not everybody wants to waive a stick arround for hours on end. Again ITS PERSONAL PREFERANCE

I myself have a PS3, yes its expensive, but some of the games simply astonishing in terms of visuals and sound. PS3 is slighty ahead of 360 in graphics and crushes Wii in that area, but again the PS3 is much more expensive and really needs a good HD set up with HDMI to get the full effect

My Rig:

PS3 60 gig
HDMI Video and Optical audio cables
42 inch 1080p LCD TV
1200 watt 7.1 SS wireless home theatre with Koss speakers
2 Sixaxis Controllers
and A comfortable Chair

Both PS2 and Wii are great choices, go to your game stop and try them out for yourself.

Have fun with whichever you pick!

The Wii is fun and I am also very competitive. I worked up a sweat playing and I also stretched out muscles I never used before in a long time. I too think it is a great way to get going and it is also a great way to connect with your family and friends. It is a fun thing to do.

I want ooooooone....can you hear the whining?! I have wanted one for soooo long. Maybe I should take some of my tax money and put it towards one. I really want it for the physicality of it. I mean, how it makes you want to move. I just love video games, but have no motivation to do anything else, so I am fat! I just know it would help me to lose the weight....

Gotta save up....gotta save up!!!

Cool sabby! I finally was able to get online. Do you have Mario Kart Wii? If so we could play online together!

I plan on getting a wii fit, except I can't do anything physical for a month... ah well gives me a chance to save up for it.
