With Mothers' Day coming up in just a couple of days, I was wondering what everyone is doing, if anything?

Are you having dinner or brunch? Are you a mother who is sleeping in? Are you a child that is going to surprise your mother? Or maybe your mother is no longer here, do you plan on time alone or with someone?

Me.....I am going to be alone. I am going to spend the day thinking about mom and missing her, but forever she will be in my heart.

I am sorry about the loss of your mother. Nobody can ever take a mother's place. :hugg

I am broke now so I am taking my mother a card and an index card with a promise to take her out for Mexican.

My teen son was thoughtful today. I brought home some discount roses and told him I bought them for myself because I am a good mother and he asked if he could pay for them and be his gift to me. I was touched since for the last four difficult teen years he has neglected me on birthdays and holidays. It is nice to see positive behaviors. Mothers' Day

First of all let me say Im sorry you no longer have your mom with you. Maybe you could plant a tree or rose bush for her. I know when my dad passed about 20 years ago, I planted him a rose bush on Father's Day and that thing bloomed like crazy for years and years!!! It was wonderful to have as a memory of him, he loved to garden and had planted a few rose bushes for me years before. (Everytime I saw a new beautiful flower I thought of him! Just an idea.)

I just had an awful scare last week when my mom had a mini heart attack and spent a few days at the hospital. It was terrible!!!

On that note, I will spend the day with her, and I thank the Lord everyday she is around. Im sure my son will do something nice for me too. Even though he is just four, he has a huge heart and just loves to give mommy surprises!
I wish all the mom's a great day!! Enjoy and relax.

Thank you Yoda and BrnEyedGrl. Planting a tree or bush is a great idea and I am thinking about that.
Losing mom this year was one of the toughest things I have gone through, but I know she is out of pain.

I hope all have a great Mothers' Day!!!

My mom is gone too...so maybe I can talk my dad into driving me to her grave which is 20 miles away...or I can light the candles on her shrine in my room (yes, I made a shrine to my mother).

I hope you can get to her grave! If not, I think a shrine is a great idea. I am working on one myself for my mom.

I'm so sorry for all of us that no longer have our moms with us.

But, I've got children of my own and they are taking me to the Woodland Park Zoo for the day. Can't wait. We're going rain or shine and it's usually rain in Seattle!
Love,
Okie

I'm sorry for everyone that has lost there mom..my thoughts are with you.
I'm spending the afternoon with my mom...it's hard not to because I live with her. I got her this really nifty Gilmore Girls card bc we use to watch Gilmore Girls every tuesday together..I also framed a picture of me, my sister, and my dad..it's her favorite picture of us. My dad is making homemade pizza for her..with turkey sausage..which means I can eat it yippee for no pork!!!

I am then taking a walk down to my greatgrandfathers property and I'm going to go and rember all the good times I had with my greatgrandmother and my Nana. I miss my great grandmother and my Nana so much..I can't bring myself to go to there graves..espically my Nana's...in fact this will be the first year I will acknowledge my Nana on mother's day since she passed..I haven't been able to in the past..but I feel secure enough to do so now without having any flashbacks to the car accident.

I hope everyone has a great mothers day
love

Sorry you won't be with your mother, that must be rough. Sorry!

I hope I can sleep in, but probably not very long - hubby has to be to work at 9 AM. Not sure if he has anything planned, although I kinda hinted that we might need reservations if we were going to go out to dinner, since it's a busy night for restaurants. I just hope I don't have to cook, whether we stay home or go out.

My siblings are all getting together at my mom's house today - but I live a few states away so I won't be there. I did send her flowers and a card.

I usually run in the Race for the Cure every Mother's Day weekend, but I couldn't this year - the closest location is just too far away now. I did donate $100 to the Breast Cancer fund.

I was going to do the Race, too. I just couldn't get the day off work because two other people put in for that day off before me! Mothers' Day

I am so glad that they have it.....I sure hope they find a cure because I don't want anyone else to go thru what my mom did....it was horrible.

((((((((Everyone)))))))))

Happy Mom's Day to all you mom's!!!!
