I want one too but my husband doesn't so I guess I won't be getting one anytime soon.

Well, I'm looking around and I can't find any only rescouces to tell me were I could buy one. I mean, the only exotic pets that I could find for a fox was literaly a TAMED fox- not a domesticated fox. I want the domesticated fox because the tamed fox still has enough wild attributes to make it unpredictable and over all not a very good pet.

But...I think the ONLY place you can buy them is in russia, but I'm not sure though, my mom says to check out exotic pet stores...we used to have one in our area but I'm not sure if it's there anymore. And even if it was, if they would sell domesticated foxes and not tamed/farmed foxes.

But yeah, my poor mom had to hear about this all the way over to her house, and then two more times as I told it to my step dad and dad ...I want one

I was actually reading something in my mom's psychology book about a research group that sells foxes that they have domesticated to support their research. She has her book at school right now but I will try to find it again and find the name of the research group that does that and pass the information along to ya!!

Anything that is a hybrid, or anything mixed with something from the wild I would not trust 100%. They are cute.

Yeah, this is why I want these foxes, and not any other "tame" fox because these foxes have 40 years of domestication behind them, while the "tame" foxes are still pretty much tame wild animals.

Oh, and if you want a wolf-like dog, there are actualy several breeds that look like wolves. The Tamaskan is a fairly new/rare breed, but it was actualy bred to look like a wolf, but still have an "excellent" temperment as a family pet. The tamaskan wikipedia page

Yes, I've watched a documentary about how the foxes were tamed and domesticized in Russia. They actually changed colors from the traditional fox color to more dog-like colors as they evolved. Interesting, but I bet my three cats would not like a fox on the primises!
