They filmed the Hulk movie in my city!
I saw Zohan too... did you like it? Because I hated it, didn't find it funny at all. Also saw Becoming Jane on DVD... wasn't a fan of that either. |

I didn't know what to expect with zohan, all the trailers just didn't warn me. I was embarrassed to laugh...but some things just caught me funny. Perhaps it was the absurdity of it? Like the hummus on everything and just the other night I saw a health junkie pushing good foods...and yep... hummus as a replacement for this and that and
No, I wouldn't tell anyone to go see it...but it was laughable at points. __________________ |

Oh, I also saw Kungfu Panda the other week.
It wasn't as funny as I was expecting (like with the squirrel/nut movies...another due out in November) but it was good and a good escape. __________________ |

WANTED.
I am advising any parent to NOT allow their child to see this movie. I am positive that it will be accused of causing some (future) shooting by a young person. __________________ |

Spiderwick Chronicles was just released this past week on DVD. I rented it, and it was good, but too intense for little kids (like my 6 year old twin grandsons!)...

I called my daughter and mentioned to her that Spiderwick Chronicles was not a good movie for Jack and Mickey. She is a 5th grade teacher, and said she already knew that about the movie, but she also said when she and hubby go see scary movies, they are appalled to see little kids in the theatres, seeing movies like "SAW."
I"ve seen the Saw films and all I can ask is what is wrong with these parents?!!! Patty |

Sorry to keep posting repeatedly here, but I'm a movie buff, watching many many films, foreign and domestic, and commenting on them on IMDB.
I just finished watching these films: The Weather Underground: documentary about the radical group of the '60's/70's....a bunch of spoiled brats in my opinion wanting to create chaos without any real plan. Then, none of them went to prison when they finally turned themselves in. Harlan County, USA: documentary about the violent coal mine strike of the early '70's. Very intense for me as I grew up in similar location as Harlan. This film won many awards and I recommend it to all. Starting Out in the Evening: Excellent film that went largely unnoticed by the public. It is about an aging writer/scholar who encounters an young seductive student. Frank Langella deserved an Oscar for his performance. Grey Gardens: The documentary about the close relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onaissis. I can't say enough about this rare view into the lives of these two eccentric ladies. Patty |

I saw Wall-E recently and thought it was a very cute movie with an ace message... Pixar never fails to impress! The animation was superb.
I'm also waiting for The Dark Knight to come out... looks ace to me. I saw Kung-Foo Panda the other day also... wasn't great, but Jack Black provides some laughs. __________________ |
