I was going through the emails I received this weekend & noticed an email from Bank of America about my online banking system not having the right information so they couldn't do online banking transactions.......then later that day, I received another email from Bank of America about my online statement.

Now.....I never had a B of A account forever....thinking someone might have stolen my ID & started an account with them I decided to see where the link took me.......well, I have Norton virus & other protection & the site came up to be a fraudlent site from both emails.

Beware of any Bank of America emails you get......looks like they are phishing for information.

Just thought I would warn.......even though most of us have the wonderful software to protect from such sites.....better to be aware than not.

As a Bank Employee of a different company not BOA, I can give a rule of thumb, never respond to any email from a "bank" that asks you to verify your SS number, that is a definate "Phish". If one does appear, please call the bank in question and alert them. If banks are made aware of someone using their name to "Phish" they will launch an imediate investigation to stop it from happening to others. Also the same goes for phone calls. If someone claims to be from your bank and wants to verify your SS, HANG UP!!, and call your local branch and let them know. A lot of elderly folks fall victm to this-TJ

thanks TJ

I am very very sensitive to ID theft & abuse.....that is why I was checking to see where it would lead me.
