Wasnt real sure where to put this, so if it has to be moved go ahead.

I'm one of those girls that like to go barefooted.. especially in the summer. Love that feeling of grass under my feet. But with going barefoot, you get the dreaded callous's. So I've been seeing the advertisements for Ped Egg. Its got the callous shaver and emery pads to go with it. I have been working on and off part of the day with a total of about 30 minutes on each foot. My callous's are annoying but not really THAT bad. I didnt get all of them off even in that amount of time. I tried using more pressure on some and that didnt even make a difference. I tried the emery pads then .. alls that did was smooth them out a bit. To me .. it was a waste of money($9.99) to be exact.

So IMO, dont go get one of these things unless you got a tireless hand lol.. your better off going to a professional and getting a nice full pedicure that lasts a few weeks!

i have one and i love it. used to get pedi every week, but don't leave the house so hard to do. i use my ped egg every other week or so and keep lotion on my feet every night and morning and after every shower and my feet stay nicer than they did with weekly pedi.

The best thing that I've found is those files that look like mini cheese graters that you use in the shower, then follow up with a pumice stone.

Ped Egg actually Brian, my nail tech has a small version of that, battery operated just for callous feet!

The blades and such are illegal for nail techs to use here in Florida, as they can cut deep and cause infections etc. Good enough reason for me not to buy my own too!

I use a pumice stone, and love the Avon handled emery cloth item to smooth it. Callouses don't form overnight, so I know I can't get rid of them in a day or two either. My feet are in good shape after going to the nail tech for a pedicure every 2 weeks (I really can't reach my feet that well.) I also put surgeon's secret on my heels at night, and am more careful about going barefoot so much. (PT doesn't want me to go barefoot at all, but grrr I used to be known as the barefoot girl of xxxx drive!) Ped Egg

My mom had horrible corns and callouses on her feet...she was always trying something on them! I'm sure she would've tried the Ped Egg if she were still alive, though.

Luckily, I only have mild cracking. I use Mary Kay Extra Emolliant Night Cream (be warned, its greasy) overnight, and seems to work well.

Ya'll are gonna laugh at me. But back last year sometime when i was sanding some wood. I had a portable sander with 100grit on it and put it to my heels. It worked pretty good. After that though i stuck with a pumice stone.

I've always been a barefoot kinda girl myself, too. All I ever use is a pumice stone every time I take a shower. When my back is bothering me too much to bend down, I use a cinder block out in the back yard and run water over it while I scrape off the calluses by running that part of my foot over the cinder block. Both the pumice stone and the cinder block leave my callused feet baby smoooooooooooooooth! Ped Egg

Buy yourself a pumice stone. It's cheaper. If you have a cinder block somewhere, put it by your outside water faucet. No money there! Ped Egg

There's no way in hell that I would CUT any of my calluses! Ped Egg

When my husband's feet are really bad, I use Chal's method, although I choose a finer grit, like 220. Palm sander, works like a charm.

My mom got a ped egg a few days ago. I haven't tried it yet, but she said it works very well... or maybe it's the combination of ped egg and lotion that's working so well. I don't know.

I think either oil of olay or dr. schols has a exfoliating foot soap stuff to use in the shower. It's really cool, it heats up. I didn't find it terribly effective (or any more so than the apricot scrub) but it feels really good.

And they say "Only Sold on TV". I knew it would eventually end up in Walmart or some place, it always does. Does anyone have this, and is it worth the $10?
