It happened at 2 am this morning. It was WONDERFUL!
 Here's 3 of the pics I took while watching from our front porch with hubby. Amber HATED it! Couldn't get her to be quiet but Caesar, the cat, slept right through it.

Holy cow, I must've slept through it too.
There was once a lightning storm where I live, where a big bolt of lightning came down and struck the backyard of a neighbor's house that was only three houses down from where I live. It was pretty scary. I went into the bathroom and got into the tub after seeing it - don't know if that was a stupid thing to do or not, but oh well. What are you supposed to do to protect yourself from lightning when you're indoors? Outdoors?

We thought so, too! So much so, that we went out to the porch and watched the whole thing. The thunder wasn't quite house shaking, but we loved it! The next door neighbor came out and thought it was awesome, too.
I wouldn't mind another one tonight but there's not a cloud in the sky!

Thanks, Be! I'm kinda proud of them myself.
 I figured out that I had to hold the button down halfway in order to catch the lighting. Guess my camera isn't half shabby, eh? I'm ready for another one! LOVE violent weather!

My youngest son lives in Piru, if you know where that is. Just a wide spot in the road on 126. They didn't get it, either. Looked to us that it was traveling towards Santa Barbara. Who knows, though. LOL
Maybe you're a sound sleeper, though, because our neighbor and we were surprised that no lights came on in the neighborhood. A bunch of old people that sleep like logs or make a dive for under the bed, maybe. LOL

Thanks, Balish. I'm sure you're no stranger to storms, though, where you live. Out here in Calif they call it a storm when it drizzles rain for a couple of days.

Violet! I'm sorry! I thought I had responded to you.
Next time a thunderstorm scares you stay the heck away from water and metal!! They both attract electricity! I hope your tub was dry!  I think anywhere inside is safe but I hear tell under the bed or in a closet is a good place to hide. LOL If you're outside, stay the heck out from under trees. Lighting likes to strike those. Get out of the pool! LOL Climb down from any high place you might find yourself. Hope that helps you.
