Hi!

Do you remember a movie called 28 days (starring Sandra Bullock) about a rehab clinic? There, one of the patients asks when can he have a new relationship, and the counselor answers this:

First, you have to buy a plant and take care of it... if it survives a year, then you are ready to buy yourself a pet and take care of it... finally, if your pet doesn't die in a year, you could start considering having a human relationship.

Well, two days ago, I bought a new plant and all I have to do is water it three times a week. Hope it doesn't die!! Wish me luck New flowers

PS. I already have a relationship but I need to take care of a lot of responsibilities I'm not taking care off.

I loved that movie Sandra Bullock was one of my favorite actresses. And I think the movie gave good advice, perhaps 2 years is longer than necessary, but you get the point.

Good luck with the plant, is it a catus? Those are the only kind I can keep alive.

Really? Three times a week? What kind of plant is it?
(You may have over watered your cactus too?)

I don't know what kind of plant is it. Is there a plant called Impatient? It is small shadow plant with little pink flowers. The "instructions" for it are to water it every other day.
Mi cactus was really strange because it easily got over watered so I did watered it from time to time... and it dried! New flowers

Impatien yes.

The impatien will begin to droop as soon as it needs water. If it isn't drooping, touch the soil and if it is damp, don't water that day, imo.

It will come right back up once watered though! New flowers

If it's in more of a potting mix than soil, it might need watering often, as the potting mix doesn't hold water like they say it does, the water drains right through.

good luck with the flowers and with the year. First year of living clean & sober is really tough, but for me it's been worth it so far. I have killed my fair share of plants though my balcony garden is pretty healthy at the moment.

Take care.

Thanks for the info New flowers
This will help me a lot to take real good care of my little plant. I've already put it in a bigger pot with rich soil. It looks happy.

Thank you. This first year for me is for recovering from a big crisis, where I SI'd and was dispensed of all my responsibilities. So the plant will be one of my first responsibilities. Also, this year will be a test to see if I can get rid of my OCD or, at least, to control it enough to be back to the real life.

I would love to have a healthy garden!

You take care too New flowers
