Curious as to what folks keep their ac temps at. I keep mine,(depending on temps outside,80 to 90s) between 73 and 75... Just talked to the neighbor and he keeps his at 71. Think it is the humidity that gets to me more than the heat. Anyway, just curious as to what others think is "normal", or I be having lots of hot flashes..

It all depends on the humidity level for me...if it's really humid I'm keeping the temp low....70ish....if it's not so humid, sometimes I can even get by with just the fan. Being menapausal and still having issues with hot flashes and night sweats, I keep my fan going year round LOL

With the electric bill in mind, I leave mine at 80 during the day and at night I turn it to 75.

I keep mine on 76. Today was cool and rainy so I cut it off. The TVA just raised the rate 20%, so our bill this month was just crazy and we had the air cut off a few days last month and the bill was still way to high.

At night I have to have it down at 62ish; the upstairs of my townhome is much warmer and I have trouble breathing/sleeping without cool air. During the day it's up around 70 but that's because we keep the "porch" open and my husband works out there and usually has the window open for the cats and his cigarette smoke to use. So, we're effectively air conditioning the outdoors :-)

I'm much like Echoes plan...78 during the day and 75 at night..

I have air conditioner systems on each floor of my home...and the second floor is seldom used so I keep that a bit higher..

I have ceiling fans in each room so I use those also...

Here in SC it can darn humid...

I keep mine at 73, and I keep it on at night because I like my house really cold in the summer.

OH, my! I keep mine at 68! I guess that's why my electric bill was so high this past month, but I can't tolerate heat at all!
I have a ceiling fan that goes over my bed at night, as well as fans in other rooms that must be going when I feel hot. I think I'd do well in a cooler climate, like Alaska!
I do set it up to 72 now while I'm working during the day, but during the summer when I was home all day, I tried to keep it down to 68, though sometimes the AC was working overtime and not making it!
I'm so looking forward to autumn (my favorite time of year)...frosty mornings, sunny cool days with colorful leaves!

I set our AC at 78. If it gets too warm, I turn on a fan. Our AC removes moisture from the air.

I have a single room unit in most rooms of the house. I know central air would probably be more cost effective. When we did have central air, I'd turn it up to 72 and still had a room unit in the bedroom set at 64. I don't deal with heat well. The extra money we spend in the summer to cool, we save in the winter for heat. I program the heat to kick on in the morning to 68 about an hour before the kids get up from school, then it goes back down to 65 for the rest of the day.

I keep a fan in my window all winter long to keep it as cold in here as possible.
