I just love Cesar Milan and his pack. I was just watching an episode in which he, once again used "Daddy," the pit bull to help with a feral dog on a ranch. He never did really tame the feral dog, but they did manage to spay her. Daddy is a Pit bull, and belonged to a rapper musician before coming to live with Cesar.
"Many people don’t know that Daddy originally belonged to rapper Redman. When the pit bull was four months old, Redman didn’t feel he could care for it properly in his environment. He sought a trainer and, through a referral, found Cesar. Daddy has been with the Millan family ever since!
Daddy was Cesar’s first right-hand dog. Since Cesar raised him from four months of age, Daddy was used to being around dogs of all sizes. This exposure and his natural balanced energy made him a perfect candidate for rehabilitating other dogs, particularly those with dog-aggressive issues. Daddy doesn’t react unless he is given a command to react, and his calm-submissive energy is contagious."
It's really amazing to see a Pit Bull in this role, isn't it!
Cesar is a genius, and helps the humans as much as the animals!

I love this show. Can we get ceasar to come to my house and teach me to be leader of the pack instead of nurturing mom?

Sarah and Wise...
Wisewoman..."nurturing mom" sounds like a great role, but I can certainly understand wanting to be leader of the pack from time to time also!
And, Sarah, yes, he is great.
I have this pup I brought home from the local shelter, and I want to do right by him. He's so smart and sweet, but a handful, and he's going to be a BIG dog. Cesar gives some very basic and wise suggestions which I hope to follow. "Fozzie Bear" argues with me from time to time, at which I have to assert myself to being the "alpha" dog in the house, otherwise he will soon be running my life!

You go, Patty! I've used some of Cesar's techniques to train my dog... like making her understand that I'm alpha B*. I haven't had any problems with her since that day. I'm so proud of her!

Once they understand that you're the boss, you can go from nurturer to boss at will. At least, I can with my baby.
